Pau Gasol family includes his parents Agusti Gasol and Marisa Gasol. Pau is a former basketball player for the LA Lakers before his retirement in 2019.

The two-time NBA champion Gasol is married to Catherine McDonnell. When they met, Catherine was working as a vice president of Guggenheim Partners while Pau was playing for Chicago Bulls.

Gasol was chosen third overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the 2001 NBA draft. However, his rights were traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Besides, he had fiddled with squads, including the Los Angeles Lakers, the Chicago Bulls, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Milwaukee Bucks. With Kobe and Shaq, Paul had a big hand in keeping the legacy of California's best NBA team, the LA Lakers.

Following an 18-season hurtle, Gasol's NBA playing days ended after he acquired a stress fracture in his left foot in 2019.

The Lakers retired Gasol's No. 16 jersey on Tuesday night, commemorating the polite big man who spent the finest seasons of his NBA career with legend Kobe Bryant in Los Angeles.

Lebron and wife Savannah could not attend the ceremony as James did not play during their win against the Grizzlies.
