Blood of Lathander BG3 without Crest will activate a deadly trap and trigger the 4-turn countdown to the demolition of the entire Rosymorn Monastery.

The best way to get hold of the mace is by obtaining the Dawnmaster's Crest. It deactivates all the traps that surround the Blood of Lathander and players will not have to face any problems after inserting the crest in the panel.

However, choosing to take the mace by force will result in a complicated situation. The characters will have a choice of either escaping the Monastery or destroying the Lathander Solar Machines that are responsible for activating the trap.

The character that grabbed the mace will be trapped behind a forcefield or light barrier and cannot do anything until they escape. You will only have four turns to disable the trap and escape from there.

Blood Of Lathander BG3 Crest Panel

The Dawnmaster's Crest should be chosen and inserted into the Crest Panel to get the Blood of Lathander in Baldur's Gate 3. The powerful mace can now be used.

The Blood of Lathander is one of the few legendary weapons in BG3. It is also one of the best and most powerful weapons in the game.

The weapon can be obtained by players early into the game as is best suited for healers. They are the ones who know how to stay safe during combats and endure less damage.

To get hold of the Blood of Lathander, players will have to complete the "Find the Blood of Lathander" side quest. The mace is well-hidden and protected in the Rosymorn Monastery.

First things first, you will have to get the Dawnmaster's Crest by completing the Dawnmaster's puzzle. It is also found in the Rosymorn Monastery in the greater Mountain Pass region.

Dawnmasters Crest BG3 can be obtained by placing all four ceremonial weapons in their correct locations. All the pedestals can be found within the Monastery.

Here is the step-by-step guide to get the Dawnmaster's Crest in Baldur's Gate 3:

  • Find the stained glass window on the upper floors of the Monastery.
  • Find all four ceremonial weapons (Ceremonial Longsword, Ceremonial Battleaxe, Ceremonial Warhammer, and Rusty Mace)
  • Place all four weapons in the right altars.
  • A secret panel opens in the wall and has a pouch inside.
  • The Dawnmaster's Crest can be found inside the pouch.

Ceremonial Longsword

The Longsword can be found right after entering the room and is the easiest to find.

Ceremonial Battleaxe

The Battleaxe can be found south of the stained glass. You will come across a large hole in the floor and you will have to jump over it and continue walking east to find a locked door.

Next to a Guardian of Faith sentry, you will find the Ceremonial Battleaxe on the ground. It is not as simple as picking up the Longsword since the Guardian will not let go of it without a fight. You will have to defeat the Guardian of Faith to get hold of the weapon.

Ceremonial Warhammer

The Warhammer is placed inside the Eagle's nest on the top of the roof of the Rosymorn Monastery. Similar to the Battleaxe, you will have to defeat the mother eagle to get hold of the weapon.

To avoid fighting the eagle, you will have to take the Warhammer without the mother eagle noticing. Trying to take the weapon stealthily is not an easy task and you may end up fighting the eagle.

Rusty Mace

The Rusty Mace is not a ceremonial weapon but needs to be picked to get the Crest. It can be found on the ground floor of the Monastery next to a skeleton.

Head north after opening the main entrance of the Monastery and once you reach a large Blood of Lathander statue, you can find an oak room by walking to the east side. The weapon will be inside the room.

After getting hold of all the ceremonial weapons, they need to be placed or thrown on their respective pedestals to get the pouch that has the Dawnmaster's Crest.

  • Ceremonial Longsword - Dawnmaster Welkinglory (Northwest)
  • Ceremonial Battleaxe - Dawnmaster Vaseid (Southwest)
  • Ceremonial Warhammer - Dawnmaster Seed (Northeast)
  • Rusty Mace - Dawnmaster Stockhold (Southeast)

How To Get The Blood of Lathander?

Getting hold of the Dawnmaster's Crest is only a job half done. You will then have to reach the right spot to use the crest that you have earned.

The guide will be helpful in navigating through the maps and getting the Blood of Lathander:

Enter the Creche Y'llek

The Creche Y'llek is a Githyanki stronghold underneath the Rosymorn Monastery. You will have to navigate your way through the main entrance of the Monastery where you will come across a giant statue.

Head down the stairs after turning left from the statue and enter the Creche. You will have to face the Githyanki guards and will have to convince them that you belong to this place.

You will then walk through the central doorways and then head for a waypoint on the wall by walking east. Head down the hallway into the Captain's Quarters.

Get possession of the Gith Shard

Once you make it into the Captain's Quarters, you will see that Captain Kith'rak Therezzyn is removing a red crystal from a panel. The item forms an impenetrable barrier next to the doorway.

The red crystal is needed to take us into the next room and you have to get possession of the shard anyhow. You can either steal the shard or take on each of the guards present in the room and eliminate them.

Inquisitor's Chamber

The Gith Shard that was taken in possession unlocked the door and enabled players to find the Inquisitor's Chamber. You will have to solve the statue puzzle to move on in your quest.

Secret Chamber Doors

Once you solve the puzzle, you can enter the Secret Chamber and are very close to reaching the Blood of Lathander. You will have to disarm the security measures that are protecting the powerful mace.

The secret chamber hallway has three doors that have magical barriers that we must get through. The magic crystals nearby need to be destroyed to disable the barriers on each of the three doors.

The first crystal is located on the left side next to the doorway. The second crystal is on the left behind a rocky pathway and on the right side of the room near the cliffside is the location of the third crystal.

Take the Blood of Lathander

Once you disarm all the security measures, you can head to the podium where you will need to insert the Dawnmaster's Crest in the Crest Panel. You will now be able to claim the legendary mace and use it during the game.

How To Get To The Inquisitor BG3?

The Gith Shard has to be placed in the panel to turn on the Githyanki Barrier Disruptor. This will allow you to enter the Inquisitor's Chamber in BG3.

Another way to enter the Inquisitor's Chambers is by obtaining the Dawnmaster's Crest. The chamber can be located while playing the 'Find the Blood of Lathander' side quest or 'Find the Githyanki Manger' quest.

Players will need to enter the Creche Y'llek and the next action plan would be to get hold of the Gith Shard from the Captain's Quarter.

This will allow you to unlock the door that was blocked and head for the Inquisitor's Chamber. You will find Cg'r'ai W'wargaz waiting for you.

Once inside the chamber, you will have to head west of the room and will come across two large archways that will lead you to a pair of statues.

The statue puzzle needs to be solved while you are on your way to get the Blood of Lathander. Players should always read the plaques that are found under the feet of each of the statues. They have clues to the puzzle that tell us which direction they should be facing.

  • The statue on the right has a plaque that reads: "Lathander blesses the rising, bountiful sun". You will have to rotate the statue to face east.
  • The statue on the left reads: "Lathander bids the setting sun a fond farewell". You have to turn the statue to face west.

The Blood of Lathander BG3 statue stuck is on the left side and can be rotated by either hitting it with a weapon or passing a passive strength check.

Once you are able to rotate both the statues and correctly face them in the directions they are supposed to be facing, you can then enter the Secret Chamber.
