Last time Denver Nuggets won a Championship is in 2023. They took over the series against Miami Heat 4-1 winning the first two games.

Nuggets made it to the 2023 NBA Finals after defeating LA Lakers 4-0.

However, Denver stood favorite to clinch their first championship in 2023 as they played against Miami Heat in the NBA Finals starting June 1.

Nuggets previously had two ABA seasons with 60 wins even though they never won the ultimate title. After the ABA and NBA merged, Denver entered the NBA in 1976.

From 2004 to 2013, the team qualified for the NBA playoffs ten times in a row. However, they failed to win even a single conference title till 2023.

Denver made their first appearance in the Western Conference Finals since entering the NBA in the 1984–85 campaign, but they were defeated by the LA Lakers in five games. Nuggets playoff history coming onto 2023 reads 94-131.

The last time Denver Nuggets made NBA Finals is in 2023. Before this, they have never managed to win the Western Conference title in history.

The Nuggets have appeared in the ABA Finals once and the Western Conference Finals five times in 1978, 1985, 2009, 2020, and 2023.

The 2023 NBA Finals will have a matchup between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets. The Heat had to compete in the play-in tournament before entering the postseason as the No. 8 seed, but the Nuggets were the top seed in the West.

Heat defeated Celtics in 7 games while Nuggets clean swept LeBron James led LA Lakers en route to winning their respective conference titles.

Although Miami set a nine-point lead in the opening period of the match on 14th Feb 2022, Denver made the comeback to win by 112-108.

Both Butler and Jokic had a phenomenal match as they nearly secured triple-doubles in the game. Nikola finished with a game-high 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists while Jimmy Butler registered 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Likewise, Denver once again made a comeback in the 4th quarter to win their recent regular season match on 31 December 2022 by 124-119.

They have surrounded their big playmaking wizard with a group of shooters and forceful defenders. Nuggets playoff record in 2023 is 10-3 and head coach Michael Malone will hope the phenomenal streak continues in the Finals as well.

Denver Nuggets NBA Finals Appearances

Denver Nuggets made first NBA Finals appearance in 2023 since joining the league in 1976 following the historic ABA–NBA merger.

Early in the 1990s, the Nuggets went through a playoff going multiple seasons without participating in the postseason. Dan Issel, the team's head coach, led the team back to the playoffs in the 1993–1994 season.

Denver made it to the second round but was eliminated by the Utah Jazz, led by elite players like Dikembe Mutombo and LaPhonso Ellis.

The Nuggets earned their first postseason appearance in nearly ten years during the 2003–2004 season, thanks to draft pick Carmelo Anthony.

They have experienced numerous successful postseason runs, including five trips to the Western Conference Finals. Denver continues to be a team to watch in the postseason as they attempt to add more chapters to their playoff history. 

2008- 2009 Season

The Nuggets had an outstanding playoff run during the 2008–09 season. They won the Northwest Division and earned the second seed in the Western Conference under the direction of Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony.

Denver won their playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks in the Conference Semifinals in five games after taking down the New Orleans Hornets in the opening round in five games. However, they lost to LA Lakers across 6 games in the Conference Finals.

2019-20 Season

Nuggets came back from 3-1 down to win the first round against Utah Jazz, thanks to great performances from Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

They once again repeated the same feat and made a stunning comeback from 1-3 down to win the Conference Semifinals against LA Clippers.

Denver also made the record for becoming the first team to come back from a back-to-back 3-1 series deficit twice in a single postseason.

However, their run once again ended in the Conference Finals after the Lakers defeated them 4-1. LA later went on to win the championship.

2022-23 Season

With 53 wins and 29 losses in the regular season, the Nuggets earned the top seed in the Western Conference ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies.

They defeated Minnesota Timberwolves in the opening round and followed it with sensational victories over Phoenix Suns and LA Lakers.

Denver Nuggets has played for 56 seasons total, including 47 NBA seasons and 9 ABA seasons since they were founded in 1967.

They had one of their best seasons in 2012–2013, with a record of 57 victories in franchise history under head coach George Karl's direction.

Also in 2018-2019, the team recorded 54-28 record making it another remarkable campaign. The team played phenomenal basketball under the leadership of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray during that season.
