Dak Prescott was born to parents Peggy Prescott and Nathaniel Prescott. Dak grew up in Sulphur Louisiana with five siblings.

Prescott attended Haughton High School. He was a 3-star recruit and got scholarships to various colleges, including Memphis, TCU, North Texas, LSU, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, and Nicholls State.

Dak accepted the offer from Mississippi State and earned first-team All-SEC honors two times. The Dallas Cowboys picked him in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. 

The 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year has made two Pro Bowl appearances. He is a four times NFC Offensive Player of the Week and has played for the Cowboys for seven seasons.

Dak Prescott Parents Separated When He Was Young

Prescott mother Peggy is of European American descent whereas his father Nathaniel is African American. The couple had a daughter and three sons.

Peggy and her husband Nat got divorced when Dak was starting school. She then raised the kids while working long hours at Huddle House, a diner/truck stop. They lived in a three-bedroom trailer in Haughton, Louisiana.

Dak Prescott Mom Peggy Prescott Raised Him With Kindness

Peggy was the daughter of a high school principal. When she began dating Nathaniel as a senior in 1979, their relationship was shunned, reports Bleacher Report.

Her kindness and acceptance helped Dak turn into a leader. Dak's mother attended almost every game for the first two years at Mississippi State. They had a tradition where they talked before every game.

Peggy sadly perished on November 3, 2013, at 52, after a battle with colorectal cancer. Dak was in his sophomore year at Mississippi State during the time. Dak established Faith Fight Foundation in her honor.

In May 2021 on Mother's Day, he started a fundraiser to raise money for research. The funds raised supported the next early career scientist who worked with a SU2C Colorectal Cancer Dream Team to make progress in the fight against it.

Prescott's love for Peggy can be seen on his social media, as he often posts pictures in her remembrance. He wears No. 4 as his mother was born on September 4.

Prescott's Dad Nat Is A Huge Cowboys Fan

Dak Prescott shares a good relationship with his father Nat. He even surprised him for his 24th birthday during Cowboys practice on July 29, 2017.

Prescott inherited his love for the Cowboys from his father and family.

Nat previously worked in the Louisiana oil fields as a commercial driver. He moved to Austin looking for new work and then started driving a city bus there.

He lived in Friso in 2017 and lived about five miles away from Dak. Nat then began watching his son's dogs, Legend and The GOAT.

Nat told The Dallas Morning News that he is aware some fans do not know about his relationship with Dak as the focus is always on Dak's relationship with Peggy.

Dak Prescott Family Life In Texas

Dak currently lives in a beautiful 3.3 million dollar mansion with his family in Prosper, Texas.

However, he had humble beginnings while growing up in Louisiana. 

Prescott has not forgotten his background and calls himself Louisiana Pride on his Twitter bio. He grew up with brothers Tad and Jace and a sister Natalie. He has an older half-sibling, Elliott Prescott, from his father's previous marriage.

Growing up, Dak, Tad, and Jace made everything a competition. They even competed on who could carry the most grocery bags from the store. The three brothers all got tattoos related to football on their bodies. 

Prescott Brother Tad Did Not Pursue A Football Career

Tad is the oldest among the four siblings and celebrates his birthday on November 25. He has a daughter and often posts about her on social media.

The oldest Prescott often shows his support for Dak on Twitter. He even started a feud with Dez Bryant, a Cowboys legend, in January 2022, reports Houston Chronicle.

Dak Brother Jace Was A Offensive Lineman At College

Dak was five years younger than Jace, born on May 10, 1988. 

He joined Northwestern State in 2007 after graduating from Haughton. He played as an offensive lineman in college, and his last game was in 2009. Jace majored in psychology and minored in general studies.

Jace was the primary caregiver to Peggy when she was battling cancer. He sadly passed away in April 2020 at 31, reports FOX News.

Natalie Is The Sole Sister In The House

Dak and his sister Natalie Prescott-Smith attended Kate Quigley's comedy show with their dad back in April 2018.
