Taylor Fritz - 25 Years Old

When it comes to the top ranked American tennis players, Taylor Fritz tops the list. His best career ranking is 5 achieved on February 27, 2023.

Fritz turned professional in 2015 and is currently ranked as world No. 9. He has five career titles so far, with the latest triumph coming at the 2023 Delray Beach Open.

In the ongoing 2023 Wimbledon, Taylor survived the Hanfmann scare to book his spot in the second round and set up a clash with Mikael Ymer. 

Jessica Pegula - 29 Years Old

Jessica Pegula is currently ranked world No. 3 and is yet to win a Grand Slam. She has reached the quarterfinals on five occasions and has not been able to get past that stage.

Pegula reached the 3rd round at Wimbledon in 2022 and this year, she has already won her first match against Lauren Davis in the round of 128.

Despite her failure to win a major tournament so far, Jessica has won seven career titles and a whopping total of $2,807,182 in prize money.

Frances Tiafoe - 25 Years Old

Frances Tiafoe is tipped to become one of the next stars in American tennis. Tiafoe is the youngest player to win the Orange Bowl (2013) at 15. 

He is also a US Junior National Championship winner and has a tournament win on the ATP Tour to his name. Tiaofe became the youngest American after Andy Roddick to win the tournament.

The 25-year-old is currently ranked 10th in the world and 2nd in the United States. Frances is currently playing at Wimbledon and booked his spot in the second round with a stunning straight-sets victory over Wu Yibing.

Coco Gauff - 19 Years Old

Youngster Coco Gauff is one of those current American female tennis players with the potential to win Grand Slam titles in the upcoming days.

The 19-year-old is currently ranked world No. 6 and No. 2 in the United States. At the age of 15, Gauff won her first WTA Tour singles title.

Coco was inspired by the Williams sister and that prompted her to take up tennis as her preferred sport. Prior to picking tennis, she experimented with several sports.

Gauff progressed to the quarterfinals at Wimbledon in 2022. This year, she made an early exit after losing to Sofia Kenin in the very first round.

Ben Shelton - 20 Years Old

Ben Shelton was bound to become a tennis player, and that too a good one. His father Bryan Shelton is a former tennis player himself and coached the Florida Gators men's tennis team.

His mother Lisa Witsken Shelton also played tennis at the junior level and was highly ranked. His Uncle Todd Witsken also was a professional player. Ben played collegiate tennis for the Florida Gators.

Shelton is currently ranked 35th in the world which is his highest ranking achieved. He turned pro in August 2022 and reached the quarterfinals at the Australian Open this year.

At the 2023 Wimbledon, Shelton defeated Taro Daniel in the first round in a five-set thriller. Ben will now face Laslo Djere in the second round.

Serena Williams - 41 Years Old

When there's a talk about the best American tennis players of all time, Serena Willaims easily tops the list across both men and women players.

The former world No. 1 has won 23 Grand Slam singles titles in her tremendous career. Serena has won all 4 Grand Slams singles and doubles titles and is the only player to achieve this feat.

Serena turned pro in 1995 and won her first Grand Slam in 1999, winning the US Open. She was ranked the world No. 1 for 319 weeks and has ended the year as No. 1 five times.

In 2022, Williams announced her plans to 'evolve away' from the sport after the US Open, hinting at retirement. There is no confirmation as to when she will play next.

Tommy Paul - 26 Years Old

Tommy Paul is one of the current American male tennis players who has emerged as a promising prospect, with chances to win GS in the future.

Paul is currently ranked 15th in the world and 3rd in the US. Since turning pro in 2015, Paul has had one career title which he won at the 2021 Stockholm Open.

The 26-year-old tennis star has had a good run in the major tournaments recently as he reached the semifinals at the Australian Open this year.

In his junior career, he defeated fellow countryman Taylor Fritz to win the 2015 French Open boys' singles title. Tommy Paul defeated Shintaro Mochizuki in the first round of the ongoing Wimbledon and will face Milos Raonic in the second round.

Venus Williams - 43 Years Old

Venus Ebony Starr Williams is the elder sister of Serena Williams. Venus is also a former world No. 1, winning 7 Grand Slams in her notable career.

Along with her younger sister, Venus is also considered one of the sport's greats. She has five titles at Wimbledon and two at the US Open. She turned professional a year before her sister in 1994.

The Williams sisters were coached by their parents Oracene Price and Richard Williams. Venus also has won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles.

Even though she is 43, she still competes at the highest level and was recently featured in a loss at Wimbledon 2023. This is her 30th year on the WTA Tour with no intention to retire.

Madison Keys - 28 Years Old

Madison Keys is known for her powerful forehands and fast serves. She has seven career titles which include one WTA 1000 and five WTA 500.

Keys turned pro in 2009 at the tender age of 14. She made her debut in the WTA Tour and became the 7th youngest to win on the tour after she defeated Alla Kudryavtseva.

Madison was a semifinalist at the French Open in 2022 and Australian Open in 2015 and 2022. She defeated Sonay Kartal in the first round of the ongoing 2023 Wimbledon.

Bernarda Pera - 28 Years Old

Bernarda Pera was born in Croatia and moved to the US when she was 16. This proved fruitful as she got the opportunity to build her career.

The 2014 US Open was her debut at the WTA Tour and she was drawn in the doubles category. She is ranked 27th in the world and 4th in the US.

Her best finish in the majors as of date is reaching the fourth round at the Roland Garros in 2023. Bernarda has two singles career titles and one doubles title on the WTA Tour.

Pera faced Tomova in the first round at Wimbledon 2023 and won the 1st set but lost the remaining two sets and crashed out of the tournament.

Sebastian Korda - 22 Years Old

Sebastian Korda comes from a family with a rich sports heritage. His father and mother are both former tennis players who won multiple titles.

His father Petr Korda is a Grand Slam winner, having won the 1998 Australian Open. Likewise, his mother Regina Rajchrtová, is also a former player with a career-high world ranking of 26. Both of his elder sisters are professional golfers touring the LPGA.

Korda is currently ranked world No. 25. He won his maiden ATP singles tournament at the 2021 Emilia-Romagna Open defeating Cecchinato.

Sebastian Korda lost against Jiří Veselý in the 2023 Wimbledon. He had a good run at the Australian Open this year, reaching the quarterfinals.

Sloane Stephens - 30 Years Old

The former world No. 3 and currently ranked 30th in the world, Sloane Stephens is set to face Rebecca Peterson at the ongoing Wimbledon.

Sloane has 350 wins in her singles career and won the US Open in 2017. Furthermore, she was also the finalist at the Roland Garros in 2018.

She turned pro in 2009 and has been part of the WTA Tour since then. She's been competing at the highest level for more than a decade now.

Sloane has also had the experience of playing with World Team Tennis for five years. Her biggest rivalry is with fellow American, Madison Keys.

CoCo Vandeweghe - 31 Years Old

Vandeweghe is a two-time Grand Slam semifinalist in 2017, during the Australian Open and US Open. CoCo turned professional in 2008.

Colleen "CoCo" Vandeweghe achieved her highest career ranking of 14 in 2018. She has two singles titles and four career titles in the doubles.

The two-time quarterfinalist at Wimbledon (2015, 2017) made the main draw as a lucky loser in 2023. However, CoCo lost the round 1 match.

John Isner - 38 Years Old

John Isner is prominent as the best server in tennis. Most tennis fans will also remember him for being part of the longest tennis match in history.

The match lasted 11 hours and 5 minutes and required 5 sets and 183 games to break the tie at Wimbledon in 2010. The American giant towers at 2.08 m (6ft 10 in) and won the last set of that match 70-68.

John Isner achieved a career-high ATP ranking of world No. 8 on July 18, 2018. His 157.2 mph serve still stands as ATP's fastest serve (official).

Sadly, the veteran lost the first-round match against Jaume Munar in four sets on the opening day of the 2023 Wimbledon Championships.
