Sheryl Swoopes husband Chris Unclesho is the owner of a trucking company. Sheryl and Chris walked down the aisle on July 21, 2017.

Swoopes is a former professional basketball player. She played in the WNBA and has won three Olympic gold medals. 

She played college basketball for the University of Texas marching into NCAA women's basketball championship with the Texas Tech Lady. 

During the WNBA's debut season in 1997, Swoopes was selected for the Houston Comets. She is only the second player in her WNBA career to win both the MVP award for the regular season and the MVP for the All-Star Game in the same season.

The 6 feet tall athlete was recognized as one of the top 15 players in the WNBA's fifteen-year history during the 2011 All-Star Game. Swoopes also was a part of WNBA All-Star 2005 alongside Tamika Catchings.

Sheryl also coached the women's basketball team, Lady Raider. She joined the program as director of player development on July 7, 2017.

Sheryl Swoopes Married Life

Sheryl Swoopes is happily married to Chris Unclesho since 2017. Unclesho proposed to Sheryl on her 40th birthday on March 25, 2011.

Sheryl stated they both were separated for many years and reunited in 2010 when Sheryl returned to Houston. Unclesho invited her for dinner and they got connected.

Chris was previously a businessman in a trucking company and now owns a Club Semper in Houston. He attended Marian Christian High School.

In 2013, he used to live at Loyola's Baumhart Hall with his wife Sheryl. Chris and Swoopes look adorable together, and they usually spend time exploring new destinations.

Ex-Spouse Eric Jackson

Sheryl was previously hitched to her high school boyfriend Eric Jackson on June 7, 1995. They have a son together but things didn't quite work out well between them as they parted ways in 1999.

Swoopes and Jackson were members of the same church and attended Brownfield High School. They fell in love with each other during that time.

Jackson was interested in football since he was young. He was a freshman at Brownfield High School and later played football at Angelo State and Texas Tech. 

Eric was raised by his grandmother and taught about the feminine side of life. He dreamed of playing college football, getting a degree, and even making it to the NFL. 

But as time passed and Sheryl saw good things, they collectively joined in with her dream. After Angelo's season, Eric moved to Colorado in 1994 with Sheryl, leaving him two years from getting a degree.

Ex-Partner Alisa Scott

After ending her relationship with Jackson, Swoopes came out in 2005 and made her relationship official with Alisa Scott. 

Alisa and Sheryl first met at the Houston Comets. They both looked after Sheryl's son before breaking up in 2011.

Sheryl Swoopes wife Alisa Scott was an assistant coach at the Houston Comets. She joined the team on July 3, 1998, and spent seven seasons as an assistant coach.

Scott worked with the Comets' post players, including 2004 All-WNBA First Team member Tina Thompson. She won three championships with the Comets and was a three-time assistant coach for the WNBA Western Conference All-Star Team.  

She joined the Comets staff after taking over for Peggie Gillom, named head coach at Texas A&M University in the middle of the 1998 season.

Sheryl Swoopes Children

Sheryl Swoopes has one child, a son named Jordan Eric Jackson. Jordan plays basketball for Beirut's First Basketball Club.

Swoopes and her ex-husband Eric decided to share custody of their kid, Jordan after getting divorced. She usually takes her son along with her.

Eric, on the other hand, also choose his career path in basketball. Swoopes asked Michael Jordan if he would be okay with naming her baby Jackson after him while she was pregnant.

Jordan said that Jackson must be able to make accurate jump shots and Sheryl joked saying that her son's jumper would be better than his.

 Eric Jackson Is An Athlete

Jordan joined the Beirut First Basketball Club on April 12, 2023. He started playing basketball at the age of seven with his mother.

They both used to practice together scoring and handball drills. He traveled to different countries with his mom during her playing career. Traveling to other countries, he used to play basketball there and learn the language.

During his free time, he watched highlights of NBA stars Kobe Bryant and LeBron James playing basketball video games, watching NBA and college games, and studying the sport.

His goal for sophomore year was to secure a basketball scholarship offer, but his first college interest came from the track and field coaches. 

Sheryl Swoopes son Jackson impressed Oklahoma and Akron as a sophomore by breaking the school record in the high jump.

Sheryl Swoopes Has Three Siblings

Sheryl Swoopes brothers are Brandon Swoopes, James Swoopes and Earl Swoopes. Sheryl grew up playing basketball with her siblings.

She stated that growing up being the only girl impacted her interest in basketball and other sports.

Earl and Sheryl attended the event on February 25, 2020 where Earl looked stunning in a dark suit and Swoopes donned a pretty red outfit. 

Earl Is Corporate Security Officer

Earl Swoopes studied at Brownfield High School. According to his Facebook account, he is interested in drawing and fishing. 

He often attends his sister's game and cheers for her from the arena. They share a special siblings bond as apparent from social media posts

Earl has been a corporate security officer at Occidental since 2016. Before working in the private security sector, he served almost 20 years of law enforcement, nine years as a Sheriff's deputy, and nine years as an airport police officer.

Sheryl Swoopes Family Growing Up

Sheryl Swoopes was born to parents Louise Swoopes and Billy Ray Swoopens. Louise and Billy divorced when Sheryl was three months old.

She was raised by a single mother and the hardships were there from an early age. After realizing the challenges that she faced, Swoopes focused on basketball and a future in education.

At the age of 37, Sheryl got to know that her father lived and worked in Houston. She sent someone to visit him at work with inquiries regarding Swoopes and her relatives.

The former WNBA star stated that Billy attended one of her other games in Seattle or Connecticut, and seeing him at the games was a wonderful experience.

Louise passed away on March 14, 2017. She often used to advise her daughter to stop trying to be someone else and just be herself as she grew older.

Following her high school graduation, Swoopes got a full scholarship to play basketball at Texas Tech, where she won the national title in 1993.

Sheryl stated that she wanted to be different after seeing her two close friends becoming pregnant before graduating high school and losing their athletic scholarships.
