8. Titleist

Phil Mickelson made a big agreement with the golf equipment company Titleist in 2000. They signed a contract for five years worth a whopping $20 million.

But in mid-to-late 2004, the deal with Titleist came to an abrupt end 16 months before it was supposed to. The reason was that Mickelson decided to sign with Callaway instead.

The new contract with Callaway was said to be around $4 million per year, plus extra bonuses. Despite trying to renegotiate with Titleist, they could not reach an agreement, and Mickelson was allowed to leave the deal early.
