Former commentator for Lakers Joe Meyers began his tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2003 as their radio voice, just one year after the passing of iconic announcer Chick Hearn.

Two years later, he was promoted from radio to television and teamed up with analyst Stu Lantz, taking over from Paul Sunderland as the team's play-by-play announcer.

However, Meyers' time with the Lakers ended after the 2010-2011 season when the team decided not to renew his contract.

The Lakers had planned to replace Meyers with Spero Dedes, but Dedes accepted a contract with the New York Knicks instead. Eventually, Bill Macdonald would take over as the Lakers' play-by-play announcer, succeeding Meyers.

Thompson was a member of the Lakers championship teams in 1987 and 1988 before serving as the Minnesota Timberwolves television analyst for two seasons. He now teams up with John Ireland for all Lakers radio broadcasts.

For the Spanish-speaking Lakers fans, Samuel Jacobo serves as the team's Spanish voice on Tu Liga Radio 1330. He is beginning his first season as a play-by-play announcer for the Lakers.

He appeared as an analyst on TNT's Inside the NBA and NBA TV multiple times during the NBA season and joined Spectrum SportsNet as an in-studio analyst for the Lakers at the start of the 2016-17 NBA season.

Allie Clifton, who previously worked for Fox Sports Ohio and the Cleveland Cavaliers, left her job to host the pregame show on Spectrum SportsNet for Lakers game telecasts, coinciding with LeBron James joining the Lakers.

Mike Bresnahan, a Laker beat writer for the Los Angeles Times for 12 years, is now a Laker analyst for Spectrum SportsNet. He covered the team during a period of mediocrity before they won back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010.

Michael Eaves, who joined ESPN in May 2015 as a studio anchor, has over two decades of journalism experience in television and radio. He is known for anchoring nighttime editions of SportsCenter from the studio but has also reported from various events such as the Summer and Winter Olympics. 

Since February 2022, he has hosted Wednesday editions of NBA Countdown on ESPN from Los Angeles.

On the other hand, Patrick O'Neal has been the secondary TV play-by-play commentator for the Los Angeles Angels since 2021, working alongside Mark Gubicza when Matt Vasgersian is unavailable. 

When Vasgersian broadcasts for the Angels, O'Neal works as the sideline reporter or studio host for the team's pre-game/post-game show.
