Atlanta Motor Speedway past winners are Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, William Byron and Kurt Busch. Joey Logano recently won the race in 2023.

The race track was formerly known as Atlanta International Raceway for three decades from 1960 to 1990. The Speedway has hosted NASCAR Cup Series since the inaugural race on July 31, 1960, which was won by Fireball Roberts.

The speedway is a quad-oval race track in Hampton, Georgia, just 20 miles south of Atlanta, hence the name. The race track is managed and owned by Speedway Motorsports since 1990.

Atlanta hosted its latest NASCAR World Series on March 19, 2023. Joey driving a Ford won the Ambetter Health 400 event by completing 260 laps and leading 140 of them, he secured 59 points.

The speedway also hosts other events apart from NASCAR World Series, the other races include NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, INEX receiver Legends Car Series, O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags, AMA Supercross Championship, and Monster Jam.

2023 NASCAR Cup Series - Joey Logano

Joey Logano won the 2023 Ambetter Health 400 race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 19, 2023. The race was 5th out of 37 races in the NASCAR schedule.

Logano started in the pole position driving his Ford-built car for Team Penske. The two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion led 140 laps out of 260 laps with his Ford Mustang eventually gaining 59 points, securing the win.

Joey managed to secure the first position in Stage One but dropped to the second position in Stage Two. His teammate Austin Cindric secured the first position in the second stage. However, Logano won the third position propelling the team to victory.

2022 NASCAR Cup Series - Chase Elliott

Chase Elliott won Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart in NASCAR Cup Series held at Atlanta Motor Speedway on July 10, 2022. This was the second race of the Cup Series held at Atlanta Speedway.

Elliott drove his Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports for 260 laps around the circuit and managed to lead 96 laps securing 60 points in total. He won over ROss Chastain by 45 points securing his first position.

Chase started the 19th race of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series from the pole position and held onto his position one on the first stage, his teammate Alex Bowman followed closely in second position at the end of Stage One.

Similarly, Elliott kept his first position in Stage Two and Three as well as securing a clean 60 points at the end of the race ad bagging victory.

2022 NASCAR Cup Series - William Byron

William Byron won the 2022 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 20. Byron led 111 out of 325 laps in the race.

Byron started the 500.5 miles race from the 12th position with his team Hendricks Motorsports and managed to secure the first position after 105 laps at the end of Stage One. 

However, William was at number 9 at the end of Stage Two receiving only two points from the stage. He regained the top position at the end of the final stage and won the race with 52 points. He had a lead of 16 points.

2021 NASCAR Cup Series - Kurt Busch

Kurt Busch won the 2021 Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart at Atlanta Motor Speedway on July 11. He defeated Kyle Busch by just 5 points at the end.

Busch started at the number 6 position representing his team Chip Ganassi Racing on his Chevrolet Camaro. He quickly claimed to number second at the end of Stage One, just behind his younger brother Kyle Busch.

However, at the end of stage two, the position of two Busch was reversed with Kurt in number one and Kyle in the second position. The Busch brothers held the same position at the end of the race giving the victory to elder Busch.

Kurt won the 2021 Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart securing 59 points while his younger brother Kyle followed in the second position with 59 points. Kurt led 144 out of 260 laps during the race.

2021 NASCAR Cup Series - Ryan Blaney

Ryan Blaney won the 2021 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 on March 21 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Ryan started the race from the 10th position.

Blaney entered the 6th out of 36 NASCAR Cup Series races representing Team Penske driving the number 12 Ford Mustang. At the end of Stage One, Ryan was at the number 3 position securing 8 points.

He gained a position during Stage Two finishing the stage in second position with 9 points. Ryan secured the first position at the end of the third stage subsequently winning the race with just two points lead.

Blaney gained 57 points for leading just 25 out of 325 laps in the 500.5-mile race. However, he managed to time his leads perfectly to ultimately win the race defeating Kyle Larson, who secured 55 points and led 269 laps of the 325 total laps.

Xfinity Series Alsco Uniforms 250

Alsco Unifroms 250 is one of the two NASCAR Xfinity Series races held at Atlanta Speed Motorway. This will be the third Alscon Uniforms 250 in Atlanta.

The tickets for the race rages from $40 to $50 for adults and children under 12 can enjoy the exciting race for free. Students and military personnel are eligible for discounts while making a purchase.

The race started in 2021 and the naming rights were purchased by Credit Karma which was named Credit Karma Money 250. However, in 2022, Alsco became the title sponsor adding their name to the Xfinity race series title.

As the name suggests, the 251.02-mile race is completed with 163 laps. The laps are divided into three stages, the first and second stages have 40 laps each and the third stage includes the remaining 83 laps.

Quaker State 400 Presented By Walmart

Quaker State 400 Presented By Walmart is a NASCAR Cup Series race held annually at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The race is set for July 9, 2023.

The 19th race of the season is contested for 400.400 miles over 260 laps. Prominent NASCAR announcers Dough Rice and Mark Garrow will provide commentary on the action this year.

Quaker State 400 was previously held in Kentucky but returned to Atlanta in 2021. 37 Drivers will contest for the title this season. Tickets are available at Walmart.

The facility opened on July 31, 1960, as Atlanta International Raceway and had a traditional Oval circuit. However, after the facility was purchased by Speedway Motorsports in 1990 the name was changed to its current form, and the shape of the circuit was changed in 1997.

Atlanta Motor Speedway length is 1.540 miles. The circuit has two continuous long U-Turns on either side and a bank angle of 28 degrees on turns and 5 degrees on straights.

The best seats at Atlanta motor speedway are between the Start-Finish line and the Pit exit, the higher the row better the view. The Speedway provides a seating capacity of 71,000 to 125,000 people depending on the configuration of the games.
