Sean played for the Kansas City Royals and was promoted to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals of the Class AA Texas League after making four starts for Wilmington.
He was named to the AFL All-Prospect team and AFL Rising Star with the Oakland Athletics.

Growing up his idol was Johan Santana's baseball pitch. He grew up watching Johan's game and used to find a channel that he was on.
Sean studied at the South Central Junior-Senior High School in Union Mills, Indiana.
He studied there for three years and transferred to Andrean High School in Merrillville, Indiana.
Though he played baseball in his school career, he was not selected for Major Baseball League. He then attended Indiana State University for his college and competed in baseball.
He played for the Indiana State Sycamores baseball team in the Missouri Valley Conference of NCAA's Division I.
For his successful baseball career, Sean's family has always been there for him. His father moved from American Soman to Hawaii after serving in the Vietnam War.

Sean Manaea has two siblings, Dane Manaea and half-brother David Manaea.
Sean was welcomed by his older brother Dane on the pitch on Military in San Diego as he made his major league debut. Dane works in the United States Navy.
They both hugged and had a quick chat in front of the Petco Park mound. Dane then left the field while Sean started his pregame warm-up.

Dane is a Wanatah native and works in a US Navy abroad USS Blue Ridge.
He graduated from Township High School. He is a hospital corpsman on the forward-deployed naval command ship based in Yokosuka, Japan.
Dane is in charge of giving the ship's sailors medical attention as a Naval hospital corpsman. He offers transportation, prescription, minor surgery, first aid, and patient care.
Growing up in a small town in Wanatah, he learned that kindness is a golden rule.
David Manaea
David is the half-brother of Sean and Dane Manaea.
Growing up, David was a great big part of Sean's life. Sean always used to visit him when he was younger.

She completed her bachelor's degree in Political Science and Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley.
