Saylor Hawkins parents are Wayne Hawkins and Kari Hawkins. Saylor grew up in Plymouth Minnesota, with sister Dayas Hawkins. 

An accomplished athlete, Hawkins achieved the title of Two-time Minnesota state champion during high school. She set and still holds several pool records across the state of Minnesota.

Wayne Hawkins

Saylor Hawkins father Wayne Hawkins was a remarkable All-America athlete in both track and football during his time at SMSU from 1989 to 1992. 

Hawkins had an outstanding career as a football player, earning several post-season awards and setting several school records. 

Hawkins finished his football career ranking first in school history in both careers, receiving yards (2,992) and receptions (248) and second in career touchdowns (28).

Hawkins was also a standout on the track, earning NAIA Outdoor All-America honors in both the 100 and 200 meters in 1990 and 1991 and NAIA Indoor All-America honors in the 60-yard dash in 1991. 

According to northernsun.org, he was also the NIC champion in the 100 and 200 meters in 1990 and 1991, earning all-conference honors in both years.

Hawkins' impressive athletic career got him into the NSIC Hall of Fame in 2013. The New England Patriots picked him in the NFL draft in 1992 alongside receiver Zay Jones father Robert Jones.
