Lyoto Machida married wife Fabyola Machida in an intimate ceremony in 2004. Lyoto has two kids named Taiyo and Kaito Machida

The professional MMA fighter began dating Fabyola when he was in his teens. They met during high school and started their relationship in 1994. 

Moreover, his partner was by his side before his early career in mixed martial arts began under the management of legendary professional wrestler Antonio Inoki in Japan. 

In 2009, he won the UFC light heavyweight title by defeating Rashad Evans and was the first UFC fighter to win a championship with a perfect record (16-0).

Lyoto fights with some high-level competitors but differs from other fighters because of his nonorthodox fighting style, known as Machida Karate. 

Lyoto Machida Had A Wedding In 2004

Lyoto Machida first met his wife Fabyola Vale during his high school years. The couple got hitched in 2004 after dating for almost ten years. 

When the pair met, they were both 15 years old and lived close in the neighborhood in 1993.

Since then, Machida and Vale have been each other's strengths, confronting many hardships together, achieving numerous goals, and starting a family with their two children.

Meet Lyoto Machida Children

Lyoto Machida has two sons named Taiyo and Kaito Machida. 

His younger kid Kaito is 12 years old, born on November 3, 2010. On the ocassion of his son's 3rd birthday, Machida posted a family picture dinning at a resturant.

While their eldest son, Taiyo Machida, born on July 23, completed his primary school in 2019. Now the middle schooler is following the footsteps of his father and grandfather and is walking through the steps learning karate.

Machida travels with his sons to ensure they have cores in every location. In July 2022, an image of Machida and his two sons playing with buffaloes on the farm of Para was uploaded. 

The caption of the image shares that Lyoto enjoys sharing his experiences with his children, and he frequently speaks with them about his boyhood and adolescence in Bethlehem, as well as his ancestors.

Lyoto's Dad Is A Karate Legend

Lyoto Machida dad Yoshizo Machida is a Japanese 8th Dan Shotokan Karate sensei who runs a training center named Machida Karate. 

Born in Ibaraki, Machida began karate training with Soichi Yamamoto, Sanseis Togushi, Nishiyama, Takahashi, Tanaka, Masahiko, and Nakayama. 

When he was 23 years old, Machida's karate skills were enhanced, as he had many qualified students who helped him grow through teaching. In 1968, when he was 22, Yoshizo moved to Brazil, where he met his wife, Ana Claudia, and later decided to live permanently in Brazil. 

The 77 year old still instructs the trainees at the academy, and he believes that teaching practitioners karate helps to manage everyday problems and transcend self-imposed constraints using "spirit force."

Additionally, Machida, a former Brazilian National Team coach, is the honorary president-elect of the JKA Brazil Association and holds the International Traditional Karate Association's 8th Dan black belt rank.

Furthermore, Machida has shared multiple clips on his Instagram page in which he shares the core rules and techniques of karate with his 112k followers. 

Machida Karate is a highly traditional type of karate that Master Machida and his sons altered to be efficient in street self-defense and MMA contests. 

It employs classic techniques such as punches, knees, kicks, elbows, takedowns, and submissions.

Lyoto Machida Mother Is From Bahia

Lyoto mom Ana Claudia is originally from Bahia, Brazil. She met Yoshizo Machida at a combat academy in Salvador. 

After marrying Yoshizo, the family relocated to Para's capital for business in 1978. 

Lyoto shares close ties with his mother. And while talking to reporters, Ana recalled that her son's favorite games always included a kimono. All five of Ana's children were raised in karate, but she never encouraged them to be fighters.

When Lyoto began to emerge, Claudia asked him whether that was indeed what he desired, stressing that it was a risky sport. However, Lyoto followed his father's footsteps after graduating in physical education.

Although Claudia monitors Lyoto's training sessions, she does not watch the fights. Her son's admission into the Octagon was the most she'd ever seen in family videos after the conflicts.

Nevertheless, on Mother's Day, Lyoto posts photographs of Ana every year and praises her for being the best mom he could have. Similarly, he describes her as a strong, brave lady who has remained strong even when the family has faced financial difficulties.

Lyoto Machida Has Four Siblings

Lyoto grew up with his four siblings named Take, Chinzo, Kenzo and Francisco Machida. His older brother Chinzo is a Shotokan karate champion and Bellator MMA fighter.

In addition, Lyoto and Chinzô battled in a karate competition final over ten years ago, and Lyoto left a cheek scar on Chinzô that is still visible.

Kenzo Machida, a TV journalist for one of Brazil's largest TV stations, Take Machida, director of Academia Machida, and Francisco Machida are his other brothers.

Chinzo Machida

Chinzo Machida is one of the best Shotokan karate fighters Brazil has ever produced. He is a 12-time Brazilian National Champion and finished second in the 2006 Shotokan Kumite Worlds.

Likewise, Chinzo is the program coordinator of Machida Karate Academy, where he collaborates closely with Master Machida to ensure that the art's purity is maintained in all programs.

Machida was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, on March 9, 1977, and when he was four, he began his training in karate. He is a featherweight athlete, standing 5'9" tall and weighing roughly 65kg.

In addition, he made his professional Mixed Martial Arts debut against Cristiano Rosa in 2005 at the Jungle Fight event, JF - 4.

He defeated Rosa in the first round of the contest via TKO. He is an MMA fighter competing for Bellator MMA, the second-biggest MMA promotion.

Take started a family with Ana Paula Machida in Belem do Para, Brazil. The couple got hitched on July 22, 2011. 

Kenzo Machida

Kenzo Machida is the youngest of the four siblings and works as a CNN journalist. 

He has worked as a communication director for APAM, was a reporter for TV Liberal based in Belem, and was affiliated with Rede Globo. 

His three older brothers are from Bahia and have black belts, but Kenzo is a brown belt. The karateka journalist stopped training, but he still practices sports lessons.
