Lindsay Whalen has two kids named Lakelyn Greve and Ryder Greve. She first had a daughter in 2017 then a son in 2019.

Whalen married Ben in October 2007, and the couple was later graced with two delightful children.

Though Whalen was born in Hutchinson, Minnesota, she spent most of her early life in Kalamazoo County in Michigan.

The former WNBA star relocated to Lake Forest in 2018 with Ben and made her home there. 

Lindsay embarked on her professional path after completing college in 2004.

She played for Minnesota Golden Gophers, the women's basketball team, for four years before the Connecticut Sun picked her in the 2004 WNBA Draft.

Following her retirement, she redirected her focus toward coaching. In 2018, the Gophers designated her as their head coach, but she announced her resignation from the role in March 2023.

On a pleasant afternoon on October 6, 2007, the two love birds exchanged vows in the romantic setting at St Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson after dating for several years.

Lindsay and Ben's love story began as undergraduates at the University of Minnesota, where they first encountered each other and eventually became college sweethearts.

She recalled the very first day when their path crossed. She was sitting alone in a business stats class when Ben joined and sat beside her.

Then a few days later, Ben asked her out, thus marking the start of their relationship. Lindsay was a star basketball player for the college team, while Ben represented Minnesota Golden Gophers in several golf tournaments. 

After getting married, the newlywed nestled in Chicago before moving to Lake Forest in 2018, where they welcomed two children.

Ben Greve Worked At State Farm

Ben Greve is an insurance agent currently serving as the president of Twin City Group. 

According to his Linkedin profile, Ben joined the agency in August 2014 as an insurance agent and worked for six and a half years.

In June 2018, the company presented him with an opportunity to become a partner of the organization, and in 2021, he was subsequently appointed as the head of the entity.

Before his stint at Twin City Group, Ben worked in several companies, including Insurance Planners and State Farm Insurance.

Having excelled in golf throughout his university tenure, it was evident that he was destined to forge a career in the sport.

Ben was an assistant golf professional at Black Hall Club, Medina Golf, and Country Club before joining the 2nd Swing Golf club as a Golf Stix Accounts Associate.  

Lindsay Whalen Children

Lindsay Whalen has two children from her marriage with Ben. She is the mother to a son and a daughter.

Her baby girl Lakelyn Greve is the eldest of the duo, born in 2017. Right after her birth, Lindsay and Ben migrated from Chicago to the north shore. 

Two years later, she gave birth to another child, a son named Ryder Whalen, in early 2019. Lindsay revels in the zeal of family life, nestled with his cherished loved ones in the scenic surroundings of Lake City.

She cherishes taking Lakelyn and Ryder to the local parks and swimming pool near their home, where the children delight in spending time there.

Lindsay Whalen was born to parents Kathy Vilandre Whalen and Neil Whalen. She grew up in a family of six with four siblings.

Kathy and Neil raised her in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Lindsay has three sisters Casey, Katie, and Annie.

Her father, Neil, is a former local hockey referee. He cultivated within her a strong sense of discipline and a passion for sports.

Moreover, Lindsay was not the only one with a proclivity for sports and athleticism; all of her siblings shared a passion.

Besides, Lindsay has uploaded several pictures of her mom and dad on Instagram.

She took to social media on February 13, 2023, to convey her birthday greetings to Kathy. In a heartfelt post, Lindsay shared her admiration, thanking her for the numerous ways she had contributed to her life.

Kathy has an Instagram account but has kept it private from the reach of other people. The username @kathywhalen has 225 followers and over 130 posts.
