Howie Long And Wife Diane Addonizio Has A Story Since Their Villanova University Days

Howie Long and Diane Addonizio met during their college days at Villanova University. Howie was one year senior to Diane at the time. 

As Long was a football player he invited Diane to watch an NFL game on television. Their first date was in a football player's dorm room, where they watched the game together.

The pair became interested in each other and started dating. In an interview when Long was asked to share about his first date he stated "A little 12-inch, black and white TV that my grandmother gave me.

A TV with a line on it and a coat hanger for an antenna. We watched a Dallas game. That’s when they were still experimenting with Randy White at linebacker."

In the starting phase of their dating life when Howie failed to send her Valentine's gift she got angry. But when he explained the reason behind it, she used to understand.

Addonizio has always been there to support and motivate Long throughout his career. Howie and Diane got engaged after their graduation.

Howie Long and Diane Addonizio married on 27 June 1982. They were both raised in the Roman Catholic faith.

They had their wedding in a private venue with the presence of close family and friends.

Diane attended the NFL Hall of fame on the red carpet at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on February 2, 2019, with Howie.

Also, Diane and Howie attended an exceptional performance of 'Lombardi' during NFL family night at the circle in the Square in 2010 in New York City.

Who Is Diane Addonizio?

Diane Addonizio is a successful lawyer, businesswoman, and author.

She was born on March 16, 1962, in Red Bank, New Jersey to her parents Frank Addonizio and mother Marie Cecere. Her father was a former security director and a war veteran.

Diane has a brother named James Addonizio who is also a lawyer. She graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Classical studies.

She also has a degree in law from the University of South California School of law. Diane has written a book named "He's Just My Dad!" which was released in 2000. 

Howie Long has three sons: Chris Long, Kyle Long, and Howard Long Jr.

Howie's sons have followed in his footstep and the three are well-known. Chris is a retired defensive end player, Kyle is a football guard and his younger son Howard Long Jr is not a player but works for the Raiders as a member of the player personnel team. 

Chris Long Is The Eldest

Chris Long is a retired football defensive end who played in the NFL for 11 seasons. 

The St. Louis Rams selected him in the 2008 NFL Draft and he played for eight seasons. He later played two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and one for the New England Patriots, winning a Super Bowl with each team.

He donated his entire 2017 salary to the charity and was given the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award in 2018. 

After spending 11 seasons in his football career he announced his retirement on May 18, 2010.

Chris married Megan O'Malley on June 22, 2013, and the couple was blessed with two sons.

Their first son Waylon James Long was born on March 2, 2016, and their second son Luke Redding Long was born on November 26, 2018.

Megan is a former college lacrosse player who graduated from the University of Virginia. Chris has posted many pictures of Megan and his sons on his Instagram account.

Kyle Long Also Played In The NFL

Kyle is an American football guard selected by the Chicago Bears in the 2013 NFL Draft and played for seven seasons. 

Long was selected to three straight Pro Bowls from 2013 to 2015, and one second-team All-Pro selection in 2014

During the 2016 season, Long suffered multiple injuries. He had a torn labrum in his left shoulder but participated in the season's first seven games.   

He missed the Bears' Week 8 game against the Minnesota Vikings because of an injured triceps. He has ownership of the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series team Mode Motorsports.

Long started working as a studio commentator for That Other Pregame Show on the CBS Sports Network in 2020.

Howard Long Jr Has Been A Part Of Raiders Nation

Howard Long Jr works at Oakland Raiders. He is a premium sales consultant and personal assistant at Raiders.

He was born in 1990 in Santa Monica, California. Howard studied at St. Anne's-Belfield School and was very active in sports.

He used to play baseball and lacrosse. As he was interested in playing lacrosse he attended the University of Virginia on a scholarship.

According to his LinkedIn account, Howard completed his Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Virginia. 

Long grew up in Charlestown, Boston with his family. His uncles and maternal grandmother raised him.

His father Howie Long Sr. worked long hours loading milk for Hood's Dairy. His mother Margaret Kirk was a patient with epilepsy and used to spend most of her time in bed.

They relocated to a home at 170 Bunker when Howie was nine, leaving his grandmother's residence.

Long recalled going to 7 Albion Place where his aunt Edie and grandmother would feed him. His parents moved two years later, a year after they divorced.

Howie, who was 12 at the time was given to his mom with custody by the court. He studied at Milford High School.

Howie currently resides in Virginia with Diane and his grandchildren.
