Indiana Fever and Charlotte Sting played another low-scoring game on June 26, 2004. Charlotte Sting triumphed 46-37 over Indiana Fever as the game to date stands as the second lowest-scoring league match in history with a total of 82 points.

Amidst all these, Liz Cambage holds the record for most points scored in a WNBA game with 53 points. Cambage achieved the feat while playing for Dallas Wings against New York Liberty on July 17, 2018.

Liberty point guard Sabrina Ionescu starred with a triple-double registering 31 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists whilst making many records.

Liz Cambage - Dallas Wings

Liz Cambage 53 points against the New York Liberty on July 17, 2018 stand as the WNBA single-game scoring record.

Cambage then scored 35 points in a 90-81 victory over the Washington Mystics to follow up her effort of 53 points, setting a league record for the most points scored in two games.

Liz concluded the season as the league's top scorer, and the Wings finished with a 15-19 record to secure the eighth seed in the league. In the first-round elimination game, the Phoenix Mercury defeated the Wings, 101-83.

Riquna Williams - Tulsa Shock

Riquna Williams had the best offensive game in WNBA history on September 8, 2013, when she scored 51 points to break the previous mark for most points in a game.  

Williams was chosen by the Tulsa Shock with the 17th overall pick in the 2012 Draft.

Riquna was a member of the Tulsa Shock at the time she set the league scoring record by scoring 51 points against the San Antonio Silver Stars to assist with the Shock win 98-65.

Maya Moore - Minnesota Lynx

Maya had a career-high 48 points on July 22, 2014, which is the second-highest single-game total in history. After that, Moore broke a WNBA record by scoring at least 30 points in 12 games in a single season.

Former Sacramento point guard Ticha Penicheiro holds the record for most steals in a game with 10 against SA Silver Stars on July 10, 2003.

Tamika Catchings - 1074 Steals

Retired professional basketball player Tamika Catchings spent 15 years playing for Indiana Fever of the WNBA with a total of 1074 steals.

Tamika is one of 11 women to have won an Olympic gold medal, an NCAA championship, a FIBA world cup gold, and a WNBA championship.

Tamika was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020.

Catchings tied the WNBA record for steals with 9 during her first season while playing the Minnesota Lynx in a regular season game. More significantly, Tamika is the quickest player to achieve 1,000 rebounds, 400 assists, and 300 steals.

Ticha Penicheiro - 764 Steals

Ticha Penicheiro is a former Portuguese star player who has spent most of her career playing with the Sacramento Monarchs of the WNBA.

She played college basketball at Old Dominion University where she collected 1,304 career points and finished as the all-time steal leader with 591. During her professional career in 2003, she had 322 steals for a total of 2.15 per game.

Penicheiro was selected for the All-WNBA team three times and was an All-Star four times. She is regarded as one of the best point guards of all time, as she has led the league in assists seven times and stands second all-time in career assists. 

Sue Bird - 725 Steals

5 feet 9 inches tall Sue Bird who has also appeared in the WNBA State Farm Commerical spent her entire career playing with Seattle Storm.

Sue Bird is the only WNBA player to win Championship in three different decades.

How Many Games In A WNBA Season?

The 2023 WNBA season has 40 games on the schedule, setting a record for the most games ever played in a single WNBA season.

The previous record for the regular season was set in 2022 when there were 36 games on the schedule. The playoffs feature an all-series format for the second consecutive year after returning to it in 2022.

The top eight clubs in the league progress to the first round of the playoffs, which is a best-of-three series. A best-of-five series is used for the semifinal and championship matches.

Ten different teams have won the WNBA Finals and the most successful club in WNBA history is the Seattle Storm, who have won four titles.

The playoffs will have an all-series format for the second straight season in 2023. A 2-1 format will be used in the first round, with the higher seed hosting the opening two games. A best-of-five series will continue to be used for both the semifinals and the WNBA Finals.
