Henry Cejudo parents are Nelly Rico and Jorge Cejudo. Cejudo family migrated to California from Mexico and settled in with 6 children.

The former UFC Bantamweight Champion had a tough childhood. His father, Jorge, was out of the picture, and his mother, Nelly, had to raise him and his siblings as a single mom.

He started early learning martial arts from his brother Angel Cejudo, a Gold medalist in Olympics freestyle wrestling.

Cejudo also began his combat career doing freestyle but joined MMA in January 2013. A year later, he inked a contract to play in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

His impressive record of 18-2 will be put to the test on May 6, 2023, at UFC 288, when he fights Aljamain Sterling. This will be his first bout in three years.

Henry Cejudo Childhood

Henry Cejudo was born on February 9, 1987 to Jorge Cejudo and Nelly Rico. Nelly raised all of her six children in Phoenix, Arizona. 

Rico graduated high school from Secundaria Club de Leones in Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Nelly packed her bags and took all the kids to New Mexico. Then sometime later, she moved the brood again, this time to Phoenix, Arizona and raised her six children independently.

Despite Nelly working multiple jobs to provide for her children, they still lived in poverty in the Maryvale area of Phoenix.

However, the memory of his difficult childhood and his clan's struggles stayed with him. Henry has spoken openly about his experiences and their impact on him.

Despite facing adversity from a young age of being raised by a single mother and experiencing homelessness, Henry learned discipline and self-reliance through the rigorous sport of wrestling. Eventually, Henry became a successful wrestler, Olympic gold medalist, and UFC champion.

Henry Cejudo Dad

Henry did not have a good relationship with his dad Jorge. His childhood was marked by constant movement and instability due to his father's alleged violent behavior and substance abuse.

Since the MMA fighter barely spent quality time with Jorge, he vividly remembers him. When he was six years old in 1993, his father was expelled from the country.

Years later, one evening, when Henry was in their Phoenix, Arizona home with Nelly, they were informed of Jorge's passing. Cejudo was in his 20s at that time.

Henry Cejudo wife Ana Karolina is a Brazilian model and social media influencer. Henry walked down the aisle on September 17, 2021.

Holding their love for each other close to their hearts for several years, the two fervent lovers disclosed their romantic relationship to the world in November 2020.

Karolina's Instagram account teems with gorgeous pictures of their holiday trip to different parts of the world. On Valentine's Day in February 2021, Ana dropped a picture of the two while chilling on the desert dunes of Dunas De Genipabu, Natal, Brazil.

In June 2021, Cejudo proposed to Ana with a diamond ring in Phoenix, Arizona, and she said yes, thus officiating their engagement. Several of their relatives and friends were also invited to a small event as they kept a surprise for them.

At the end of the party, Henry and Ana announced that they were expecting a baby girl, and everybody rejoiced in amazement.

Cejudo girlfriend turned wife Karolina graduated from The State University of Campinas in Sau Paulo with a certificate in environmental management. However, she took a 180-degree turn in her career and began working in fashion. 

Ana's efforts have led her to partner with several brands and businesses, including Wella Professionals Brasil, Sebastian Professional Brazil, and NIOXIN hair products.

Henry Cejudo Kids

Henry Cejudo has one kid, a daughter named America Maria Cejudo. America was born in the year 2021 and she is now one year old.

After announcing his retirement from UFC in May 2020, Henry became more focused on his personal life. He married his longtime lover Ana, and the two were blessed with their first kid on November 18, 2021.

The blissful pair revealed they were anticipating a baby during their engagement party in June 2021. Then in November of that year, Henry's clan organized a baby shower for the upcoming addition America Maria.

Two weeks after the baby shower, Ana and Henry became parents for the first time as she gave birth to their little princess America. Karolina took to Instagram to share the first glance of their child, with an emotional caption to welcome her. 

Henry Cejudo daughter America Maria celebrated her first birthday in November 2022 by cutting a two-tiered cake with lots of love and blessings. 

Additionally, in April 2023, the couple announced that their baby number two was also on the way, with a due date of October 2023. On their Instagram page, they shared an ultrasound picture of the fourth member of the Cejudo clan, C4.

Henry Cejudo Siblings

Henry Cejudo Siblings are Angel Cejudo, Alonzo Cejudo, Gloria Cejudo, Angela and Genesis Cejudo. 

Out of his six siblings, Henry is the second youngest. His elder brother Angel and sister Gloria are professional martial arts fighters who have established themselves in the sport.

Gloria completed her graduation in Psychology at Grand Canyon University. She currently lives in  San Diego, California, as an Owner and Director of Operations at Surf N' Chess, a chess club.

Cejudo sister revealed she was suffering from stage four terminal cancer in November 2021. She is undergoing high doses of chemotherapy and other treatments.

Henry Cejudo Brother

Henry Cejudo brother Angel Cejudo is an American freestyle wrestler born in Los Angeles. He is best known for winning the Olympic gold medal in wrestling at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the 60 kg weight class.

Before his Olympic success, he had an impressive high school career where he went 150-0 for Phoenix Maryvale High School in Phoenix, Arizona, and won four 5A state titles.

In 2006, he was ranked ninth in the U.S. Senior freestyle ranking, and in 2007, he failed to qualify for the 2007 U.S. World Team Trials in freestyle wrestling.

However, he continued to work hard and eventually won the Dave Schultz Memorial International freestyle wrestling tournament on February 5, 2008, in the 60 kg class, just a few months before winning the Olympic gold medal.
