Broward County has one the largest school athletic conferences called BCAA that gives recognition to the student-athletes. The county and the community have raised multiple athletes successfully who went on to perform in the NFL.

Lamar Jackson is in the top five list of Best NFL players from Florida. Jackson is an American Quarterback born in Broward County. 

Jackson was drafted by the Ravens in ‘18. He is together with the organization for the last five years. He was a promising rookie since his debut, Lamar won an MVP award in ‘19 he took his team to the playoffs. 

Pompano Beach-born athlete became the highest-paid NFL player after signing a $260 million contract with the Ravens. 

Despite playing only for five years, he has already achieved multiple accolades including 2 times Pro Bowl win. 

Jackson’s play is similar to Michael Vick's. QB posed a significant threat to the opponents with his dual playing style. He is an elite passer, and rusher, and is the best player of the Ravens. 

Marquise Brown - Wide Receiver

Marquise Brown is among the current NFL players from Florida playing for the Cardinals. He was drafted by the Ravens in 2019 after completing three years of college at Canyons. 

Brown made a record by driving the ball 265 yards against Oklahoma State. He was a sought-after rookie and signed by the Ravens for wide receiver position. 

During his time in Baltimore, he played with his high-school rival Lamar Jackson. Brown only spent three years with the Ravens and then joined the Cardinals in the '22 season. 

Marquise suffered an injury during his first year with the Cardinals but he finished as second-best receiver for the team. Additionally, he shall be the first-round receiver in Arizona going into this season.

Devin Bush is counted among the popular NFL players from Florida playing for the Seahawks, He was born in Penbrook Pines which lies in the county of Broward. 

Bush received a scholarship from Florida state but rejected it and joined Michigan. He was acknowledged as the hardest-hitting player in the Wolverines. 

Similar to Brown, he was drafted in ‘19. He played with the Steelers for four years and in 2023 he changed gears to Seattle Seahawks to make it to the Superbowl

In his rookie year with the Steelers, he signed a whopping $18.87 million contract including an $11.74 million signing bonus. 

Steelers lost most of their games but Bush surpassed the 100 tackles in his first season. He was named AFC Defensive Player of the Year. 

However, due to injuries and declining performance, he left the club and joined the Seahawks. 

Jason Pierre Paul - Outside Linebacker

Jason Pierre-Paul was born in Deerfield Beach, Florida, and drafted by the New York Giants. Paul is a two-time Super Bowl winner with the Giants and Buccaneers. Pierre is an alumnus of the College of the Canyons from South Florida. 

The Outside Linebacker made 629 tackles in his career. After winning his first Super Bowl and a spectacular performance in the ‘12 season earned a place in the list of  NFL Top 100 Players of 2013. 

He had an illustrious career and was successful in achieving multiple accolades while representing Broward County. 

Moreover, after going through a life-threatening car crash, he made an inspiring comeback in the 2020 season and went on to win a Super Bowl with the team. 

Sony Michel - Running Back

Sony Michel is a Broward County NFL player and two-time Super Bowl winner with the Patriots and Rams. 

Michel graduated from Heritage and he is from Hollywood. Haiti-origin player quickly became a successful star, he joined Georgia University for his collegiate career. 

The running back was a star at the University. He debuted after an agreement with GM Belichick Patriots in his NFL career and remained for two years with the team. 

Besides, facing multiple injuries, he was bounced around in the NFL thus he joined the Rams for the ‘23 season. 

After signing with the Rams, he announced his retirement on July 29, 2023, and looking to pursue other avenues of his career. His reason for retiring was to focus on his family, take care of his health, and expand his horizons. 

Yasir Abdullah - Linebacker

Yasir Abdullah is an NFL Broward County player who has played with the Jaguars since the ‘23 season. Abdulla graduated from Miami High School in Florida. 

Yasir was a fifth-round pick in the NFL, he had the best career in high school and college. Abdulla committed to the University of Louisville to play college ball. 

Looking back, he was a young prospect who made 137 tackles and 20 sacks in his high school career. He was a top recruit to play university football. 

During his freshman to graduate year in Louisville, Abdulla participated in 13 games and recorded 45 tackles in the ‘19 season. Likewise, Yasir finished the game with 33 tackles and secured three sacks. 

He had higher stats while playing for a short period. He is likely to start with the Jaguars this season. Likewise, It is essential for Yasir to work hard in order to measure up to the success of his predecessor. 

Cody Brown - Running Back

Cody Brown is an NFL player from Coral Springs, Florida. He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the ‘09 draft. 

Florida's player collegiate career began in Connecticut. He had impressive accomplishments registering over 18.5 sacks and 33 tackles for his uni. 

Brown did not remain long with the NFL team, he jumped to to New York Jets and hopped to Detriot Lion. After being unable to find his footing with the NFL he jumped to the CFL

Unfortunately, Brown’s stint did not last long at CFL as well. He did not have a promising future with football. Cody has remained anonymous, it seems he is leading a quiet retired life with his family. The Floridian native still lives in the Springs. 

Steve Hutchinson - Guard

Steve Hutchinson is a national league player from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Hutchinson resides in the east-central region of Broward County. 

Hutchinson mainly played for the Seahawks and Vikings in his career. In held the guard’s position in his last stint with the Titans. 

He is a seven-time Pro Bowl player and is listed among the top 50 list of greatest Vikings. Moreover, he played for Michigan thus the player’s success was celebrated by the state. He was top 33 football players in the 100-year history. 

Furthermore, he won the national champion trophy with his college team and succeeded in becoming the pro-bowl winner. Despite being great at his game, he never won a Super Bowl. 

Dan Morgan - Linebacker

Dan Morgan is a Florida NFL player turned executive who plays the role of Assistant GM of the Carolina Panthers. 

Morgan is inducted into the college football hall of fame in Mami Florida. He played for two teams in his pro career the Panthers and the Saints.

Likewise, he spent six with the Panthers and only a few months with the Saints. After retiring, he became part of scouting intern with the Seahawks. 

Dan built a successful executive career after retiring. He is likely to become a new general manager in the upcoming period. Morgan started out in Seattle, spent over seven years with the organization, and then moved on to Bills for a year's tenure. 

Since '21 he has held the position of assistant general manager with Carolina Panthers. Dan is the NFL's top executive in the making, he holds experience in operational and managerial functions to operate the organization. 

Barry Krauss - Linebacker

Barry Krauss is Florida’s player from the 80s. He was a linebacker and went to Alabama College

Krauss played for more than a decade in the NFL. He was with the Colts and Dolphins during his time in the league. 

Barry graduated from Pompano High School, he was a sturdy linebacker who listed the team in the "Top 100 Football All-Star Team." 

Alabama graduate had a successful collegiate career with multiple MVP and defensive awards. He brought national attention to the team by dominating the Southeastern Conference. 

In the NFL, Barry recorded over 1,000 tackles and managed to secure six interceptions while playing in the position of Linebacker. He was listed in the Alabama Hall of Fame in 2007.
