Rory McIlroy is among the most famous Irish golfers that have been part of the PGA Tour. He is a current PGA Tour golfer with 37 professional wins.

Only aged 34 which is quite young for golf, he has recorded 24 PGA Tour wins which includes 4 major championships. He is yet to win the Masters Tournament and in 2022, he finished as the runners-up.

Rory was born in Hollywood, County Down, Northern Ireland, and currently resides in Jupiter, Florida, United States. The Northern Irish golfer spent 122 weeks as the #1 ranked golfer in the OWGR.

His last win was the Genesis Scottish Open which came as recent as July 16, 2023. He is currently ranked #2 in the OWGR and #3 in the 2022-23 FedEx Cup standings.

Pádraig Harrington

PGA golfers from Ireland to have won a major championship is Pádraig Harrington who was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1971.

Harrington turned professional at the age of 24 in 1995. He has racked up 37 professional wins in his career.

He is currently touring the PGA Tour Champions and is currently leading the tour with the most number of wins at 4. Prior to joining the senior tour, he registered 6 wins on the PGA Tour including three major championships.

His first major championship win came in 2007 as he won The Open Championship and repeated the same feat in 2008 which was his second major and Open Championship. He also went on to win the PGA Championship the same year.

His two wins and other high finishes earned him his career-best ranking of #3 in 2008 which by far has been his best year as a professional golfer.

Graeme McDowell MBE is among the pro golfers from northern Ireland who previously toured on the PGA Tour and is currently a member of LIV Golf

He has 16 career wins including four PGA Tour wins and one major championship that he won in 2010 which was the U. S. Open. His next best finish came in 2012 when he finished T5 at the British Open. 

Since turning pro in 2002, he achieved his highest ranking of #4 in 2011. He had a great year in 2011 as he was also appointed as the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).

He is currently associated with both the European and Asian Tours alongside LIV Golf. He has 11 European and 4 Asian Tour victories. 

Darren Clarke

The 54-year-old has 27 professional career wins since turning pro in 1990 with three wins on the PGA Tour that includes a major championship.

He won The Open Championship in 2011 and was appointed as the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) the following year.

Clarke is a Northern Irishman born in Dungannon in 1968. He reached #8 in the rankings in 2001 which also happens to be his highest ranking. Since he is touring the senior tours, he also won the Senior Open Championship making him the fourth player to win at both levels.

Des Smyth

Des Smyth a native of Ireland was born in 1953 and turned professional in 1974. He has 26 pro wins in his career and has not won a major championship.

Although he has 26 career wins, he has not won any tournaments while on the PGA Tour. He has eight wins on the European Tour and the rest have mostly come on the PGA Tour Champions and the European Senior Tour.

His best finish in major championships came in 1982 when he finished T4. He has not taken part in any other major championships.

Shane Lowry is among the best Irish golfers on the PGA tour and is ranked #31 in the world as of the latest rankings and reached his career highest of # 16 in 2020.

The Irish golfer has 6 pro wins with 2 wins on the PGA Tour which includes one major championship. He won the 2019 British Open and has had a Top 5 finish in all of the major championships.

He is also a member of the European Tour and has 6 wins on the tour. His last win in either of the two tours came in 2022 when he won the BMW PGA Championship with Mcllroy and Jon Rahm as the runners-up.

Séamus Power

Séamus Power is a 36-year-old golfer from Ireland who turned pro in 2011. He is currently touring the PGA Tour and the European Tour.

He has managed to record seven professional wins in his career, with two coming on the PGA Tour. He has yet to win a major; his best finish came at the 2022 PGA Championship when he finished T9.

He earned his first PGA Tour event victory at the Barbasol Championship on July 18, 2021, with his second win coming at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship on October 30, 2022.

He is the fifth golfer from the Republic of Ireland to win an event on the PGA Tour. He achieved his highest ranking of #28 in 2022 and is currently ranked 52nd in the world.

David Feherty

David Feherty is a former golfer from Northern Ireland and formerly toured the PGA Tour as well as the European Tour. He turned pro in 1976 and had 11 professional wins in his career.

He did not record any wins on the PGA Tour and five of his wins have come on the European Tour. He finished T4 at The Open Championship in 1994, which was his best result at the major championships.

He retired from the tours in 1997 and ventured into the field of media as a golf analyst and an on-course reporter for the CBS Sports network. He later joined NBC Sports and Golf Channel in 2016 and is currently a member of the broadcast team for LIV Golf since 2022.

Mark McNulty

Mark McNulty was born in Bindura, Southern Rhodesia, and became a citizen of Ireland in 2003. He was born in 1953 and turned professional in 1977.

McNulty has been part of the Sunshine, European, and PGA tours in his career, and at the age of 70, he is currently touring the PGA Tour Champions. He has not won an event on the PGA Tour out of his 59 professional wins.

His peak years were in the 1980s when he was one of the best golfers on the European Tour and made a Top 20 finish in all four major championships during that period. His best finish came at the 1990 Open Championship where he finished T2.

Richie Coughlan

Richie Coughlan was born in Tullamore, Ireland, in 1974. He turned professional in 1997 and in his short career, he has been on both the PGA and European Tour.

He has not had much success as a professional golfer as he has not won any event on either of the tours. He has played 65 events on the PGA Tour and has had a Top 10 finish just once.

The highlight of his career was that he qualified for both the PGA Tour and the European Tour in his rookie year and was the first player to achieve this feat.
