Arvydas Sabonis Wife Ingrida Mikelionyte On Raising A Family Of Ballers

Arvydas Sabonis married wife Ingrida on June 15, 1990. The couple married at Kaunas Town Hall Square. 

The ceremony is named to be one of the most publicized and luxurious weddings in Lithuania.

Many well-known names, including the writer and traveler Vytaras Radzevičius, journalist Laisvė Radzevičienė, basketball player Rimas Kurtinaitis, and basketball journalist Vidas Mačiulis attended the big day.

On Facebook, Vidas Mačiulis shared some secret pictures of the wedding in 2020, during the Sabonis couple's 30th wedding anniversary. He confirmed that several thousand people had watched the event.

Arvydas and Ingrida remain prominent figures in Lithuania who mainly attend sports-related events, especially basketball. Both have resorted to staying away from social media platforms.

Coming into 2023, the pair are running toward 33 years of marriage. Ingrida Mikelionytė-Sabonienė was born on November 28, 1970, in Vilnius. 

After being crowned Miss Lietuva in 1988, she bagged two movie roles the following year. She appeared in the leading role of Agnes in Raimondo Vabal's film " Miškais ateina ruudo " in 1989.

Meanwhile, she appeared as herself in "Neveroyatnyy sluchay," per her IMDb. 

Arvydas Sabonis and Ingrida have four children. Sabonis family has one daughter, Ausrine, and three sons, Zygimantas, Tautvydas, and Domantas Sabonis.

While Tautvydas and Domantas followed their dad's footsteps into professional basketball, the others did not. Even so, the Olympian remains inspirational in his kids' lives.

Aušrinė Sabonis

The only daughter of the basketball clan, Ausrine, is a professional in the hotel management industry. She is a 2018 first-class honors graduate of the School of Business at Westminster University in London.

She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Business Management while growing professionally from a waitress to a restaurant manager. Besides her academics and work experience, she is fluent in English, Spanish, and Lithuanian.

Ausrine's LinkedIn confirms that she speaks a conversational level of French while she is learning Russian. She started her career as a waitress at Pušų Paunksnėje Hotel in Palanga in June 2016.

She then became a hostess in the same hotel in 2017 for three months and returned as a restaurant manager from May 2018 to February 2019.

Ms. Sabonis thoroughly worked with Wasserman as an intern in 2017 and a marketing intern in 2019. However, she returned to her old workplace in June 2019.

Zygimantas Sabonis

Zygimnatas is the eldest son of his parents and the head of Pušų Paunksnėje Hotel. Arvydas owns the hotel; hence, Zygimnatas and Ausrine have been key people in operating the business.

The eldest Sabonis is active on Instagram as @zasabonis. He did not take pro basketball as his main-go in life but is focused on his hospitality career. 

He and Ausrine are work buddies due to their dedication to the family-run business. He is married to Simona Saboniai, who wore a Juoz Statkevičius wedding gown. Their wedding party was held in the Sabonių restaurant.

Tautvydas Sabonis

Tautvydas was born on May 01, 1992, in Valladolid. His father was playing with Fórum Valladolid of the Spanish Liga ACB club at the time of his birth.

Arvydas joined the team in 1989 and helped it to reach the Korac Cup semifinals during the 1991-92 season. Sabonis senior played with the Valladolids for three seasons and left it in 1992.

Tautvydas was the first child born outside Lithuania due to his dad's career in another city. He recently played as a power forward for TAU Castello in Spain.

He stands at 6 feet 3 inches and last played in the Spanish La Liga 2 league from May to April 2019. He nabbed only one win against the Leyma Coruna on April 12 before calling quits on his career.

Tautvydas now works as an assistant coach for BC Zalgiris Kaunas. He married Paulina Sabonis in 2017 at the Pušų Paunksnėje Hotel.

Domantas Sabonis

The youngest son of the basketball clan is Domantas. He was born on May 3, 1996, in Portland, Oregon, when his dad played with the NBA Trail Blazers.

Domantas is a center and power forward for the Sacramento Kings, while he is also a Lithuanian national basketball team member. He is a three-time NBA All-Star, with his recent announcement coming in 2023. He had started his career with the Spanish team, Unicaja Málaga.

After retiring from NBA, his father relocated the family to Malaga, Spain. Domantas only moved to the U.S. to play collegiate basketball for the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

The 26-year-old was drafted in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic but got traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder the same night. He later played with the Indiana Pacers in 2017, with whom he was named an All-Star twice.

Fast forward to 2023, Sabonis is a star player for them alongside Keegan Murray, recording the tenth triple-double of the season against the Milwaukee Bucks. He is in red-hot form right now.

Domantas Sabonis and Shashana Rosen had a wedding on August 15, 2021. Shashana is a former cheerleader of the LA Lakers.

They had been dating since 2019 and got engaged in 2020. Domantas had proposed to her on the beach.

Both have continued to share their romantic moments on Instagram since then. The couple again surprised their fans in December 2021 when Shashana posted a picture of their ceremony with the caption, "So nice I married him twice."

Domantas and Shashana tied their knot at Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. The two welcomed their son, Tiger Sabonis on March 11, 2022.

Besides her busy mom duties, Mrs. Sabonis also looks after her The Movement-LA as its founder. The dance studio now operates in Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and Bel-Air. 

She started the dance classes with Shai Rosen, one of her two brothers. They mainly cater to kids and give them "High energy dance classes."

Shashana was born to Jimmy and Tiffany Rosen on October 25, 1992, in Los Angeles, California. She has two brothers, Shai and Sage, and three sisters, Shaynee, Sasha, and Shaya.

Arvydas Sabonis family has Lithuanian roots and ethnic background. He was born to Andrius and Milda in then Lithuanian SSR, Soviet Union, on December 19, 1964.

Sabonis began playing basketball at age 13 and had become a member of the Soviet national junior team by 15.

Hence, he was excused from mandatory service in the Soviet Army due to his playing duties and his enrolment at the Lithuanian University of Agriculture.

Arvydas grew up with a younger sister named Ilona Šnipienė. Ilona gave birth to a son in January 2001 at the Obstetrics-Gynecology Clinic of the Kaunas Medical University.
