Shohei Ohtani has a sister named Yuka Otani. Yuka is the oldest of the three children of Toru and Kayoko. 

During her high school years in Japan, she was engaged in volleyball, demonstrating a remarkable ability for the game. However, unlike her brothers, she did not choose to pursue athletics as a career path.

Growing up in Oshu, Iwate, Japan, Yuka had first-hand observation of his younger brother. She knew Shohei was always a force to be reckoned with.
