Shane Wright parents are Simon Wright and Tanya Wright. Shane dad Simon is a marketing agent while his mom is a teacher.

The narratives of top athletes hailed as the next big thing share a few recurring themes. However, Shane has a whole different story.

Neither Simon nor Tanya has any hockey background.

However, they can be immensely proud of what their son has achieved. Shane had athletism in his blood and was very competitive from an early age.

Currently, he plays for the Seattle Kraken in the National Hockey League (NHL). The 18-year-old NHL forward was recently named captain of the Canada Juniors for the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Shane Wright Parents Tanya And Simon

Shane Wright was born to mother Tanya and father Simon Wright in January 2004 in Ontario state of Canada. The family now lives in Burlington northwest of Ontario.

They were amazed and, at times, baffled by their child's athletic passion. Shane had a strong competitive drive and desire to succeed even at a young age.

When he was just four, Simon and Tanya had him attend a local hockey training center in Burlington because he showed every bit of athletic talent.

They thought it would be appropriate if he got the proper guidance and mentorship.

"From an early age, he was wired differently than others when it came to competitiveness," Tanya said to Sportsnet, "We're not hockey people."

Since they were not athletes in the past, it was a real pain in the neck for them to handle Shane. A parent's background in sports may provide an opportunity for their child to learn from their experience and training, which can benefit their development as an athlete.

But Shane was completely missing in that department.

Simon Wright advised his son

Shane Wright father Simon has been working as a marketing agent in Ontario Canada.

His wonderful advice to Shane on the day of his NFL draft in 2022 is a class of brilliance from him; the words cannot be better than any dad could give to their kids.

What Simon, a marketing agent for a nutritional-supplements company, said in that 40-second video will always be life advice for him to reach heaven high, keeping his feet on the ground simultaneously.

"It's never been about when... It's where and what you do," it is not only the motivation for him but everyone.

It instills in young sportspeople a constant sense of humility. There will undoubtedly be a rough road ahead, but they must never give up and must always be optimistic about their aim and objective.

Tanya was a strict mom

Tanya was very strict with Shane when he was little.

One day when Shane was six years old, he was playing soccer with his friends, but after not getting enough touches on the ball, his desperation turned into madness, and he knocked one of the opponent players over the ball.

Since her son lacked discipline, Tanya, a high school teacher, was humiliated by Shane and took him out of the game. No matter how hard she was with him, the mumhood inside her always prevailed.

Tanya is his number-one fan and has always supported him throughout every decision in his career. It's great to have supportive people who encourage us to pursue our aspirations and work hard towards achieving them.

Shane Wright Was Brought Up In A Family Of Four

Seattle Kraken forward Shane grew up in a family of four with his mom, dad and a younger sister Maddie Wright.

The 18-year-old NHL rising star is exceptionally fortunate to have a wonderful and supportive household that is always behind him.

Simon and Tanya always played a vital role in his career decision-making. From an early age, they have invested their whole and sacrificed to support his NHL ambition.

His family stood as a robust support system to guide him through the challenges and setbacks he faced. In the 2021-22 season, fans and internet people were unsatisfied with Shane's performance, and he faced heavy backlash on social media.

He was 17, so it was difficult for him to face all the harsh criticism. Even Simon and Tanya faced the pressure. But they preserved him and taught him to face off the negativity, the Montreal Hockey Now wrote.

Shane learned to take a step back and look at the situation objectively rather than getting too caught up in emotions. Since then, he has become stronger and mature enough not to get persuaded by some whines.

On the other hand, Maddie, his older sibling, is also a talented soccer player from high school.

Maddie Wright is pursuing her degree at the University of Waterloo in Ontario and plays college varsity football.
