Johnson Jr. started his high school career at St. Xavier High School before transferring to Princeton High School as a senior in 2019. He then joined Ohio State University in 2020 to play football at the college level.

With his impressive skills on the field, Paris is considered one of the top prospects for the 2023 NFL draft. At Ohio State, Paris played as a blindside protector for quarterback CJ Stroud and was considered the team's top tackle.

The New England Patriots have shown interest in Paris as a potential draft pick, along with Ohio State teammate Jaxon Smith-Nijigba, a receiver. The Patriots have reportedly narrowed their focus on these two players in the 2023 NFL draft.
