The National Basketball Association is a men's professional basketball league that comprises 30 teams, divided into two conferences (Eastern and Western) and six divisions.

Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta Hawks is the first NBA team in alphabetical order founded in 1946. The Hawks won their single NBA Championship to date in 1958.

The Hawks have produced several notable players, including Dejounte Murray, Dominique Wilkins, Bob Pettit, and Pete Maravich. The 24-year-old point guard Trae Young is another legend in the making for Atlanta.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics franchise founded in 1946 is one of the most successful teams in NBA history with phenomenal 17 championships.

Their latest NBA title came in 2008 by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 4-2 in the NBA Finals under the tutelage of head coach Doc Rivers.

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets are a professional basketball team founded in 1967. The club played in New Jersey before relocating to Brooklyn in 2012. 

The Nets have won two conference championships, in 2002 and 2003.  They have produced several notable players throughout their history like Jason Kidd, Julius Erving, Kevin Durrant, and Vince Carter

Charlotte Hornets

Charlotte Hornets are a professional NBA basketball team founded in 1988. Legendary Michael Jordan has the team ownership currently.

They were previously known as Charlotte Bobcats from 2004 to 2014. The eastern conference team plays its home matches in Spectrum Center.

Although Charlotte has never won the championship, they have been home to players such as Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, and Kemba Walker. In recent years, the Hornets have seen promising performances from players like LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges.

Chicago Bulls

Chicago Bulls plays in the central division of the Eastern Conference in the NBA. Chicago played its first game during the 1966/67 season.

The Bulls has won six NBA championships including two three-peats, led by the legendary Michael Jordan and his teammates in the 1990s.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers, founded in 1970, plays its home games at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. They have had several notable players, including Mark Price, Brad Daugherty, and Kyrie Irving.

In 2016, led by LeBron James, the Cavaliers conquered their first and only NBA championship against the Golden State Warriors. They have also made appearances in the NBA Finals in 2007 and 2015.

After a hiatus from the playoffs since 2018, the Cavaliers clinched a spot in the 2023 NBA playoffs but went down by 4-2 against the NY Knicks.

Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks also known as Mavs were founded in 1980. They won one NBA championship in 2011, with Dirk Nowitzki leading the team. 

Throughout history, the Mavericks have had many notable players, including Steve Nash, Michael Finley, Derek Harper, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, and Luka Doncic.

The Mavericks have endured a decent run in the league winning their two conference titles in 2006 and 2011 and four division titles in 1987, 2007, 2010 and 2021.

Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets is an American professional basketball team based in Denver, Colorado. The Nuggets compete in the Western Conference.

Founded as an expansion team in 1967, Denver is yet to win an NBA championship. However, they have won 12 division titles to date.

Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have won seven championships, with their latest triumph coming in 2022 with Steph Curry becoming the Finals MVP.

Houston Rockets

The franchise became part of the NBA in 1976 when the two leagues merged. Indiana has had a fair share of success in their history, winning three ABA championships and reaching the NBA Finals once.

Some notable players in Pacers' history include Reggie Miller, George McGinnis, Roger Brown, Paul George and Jermaine O'Neal.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers belong to the Pacific Division of the Western Conference in the NBA. The franchise was founded in 1970 as Buffalo Braves.

Miami Heat

New Orleans Pelicans

New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are a basketball team that has existed since 1946. Knicks has won two NBA championships, in 1970 and 1973.
