Jordan Walker family includes his dad Derek Walker and mom Katrina Walker. Jordan is an American baseball player born on May 22, 2002.

The St. Louis Cardinals selected the rising star in the first round of the 2020 MLB Draft. He visited the club's headquarters with his mom Katrina and dad, Derek, in June 2020.

After medical, Walker showed them the city and its breathtaking attractions. The Cardinals sealed Walker's deal with a signing bonus of $2.9 million.

Having spent two seasons tirelessly honing his skills in minor league games through the club's system, the 20-year-old baseball virtuoso was finally placed in the Cardinals' starting lineup in March 2023.

Derek and Katrina, who were in the stands to watch their son play his first MLB game, had tears in their eyes. It fulfilled their deepest aspirations, just as it was for their son Jordan.

Jordan Walker parents are Derek and Katrina Walker. Jordan grew up with his two siblings Derek Jr and Sophia in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Young Jordan is fortunate to have been raised by Derek and Katrina, who instilled within him a firm foundation and an enduring influence that would shape his athletic career.

When the St. Louis Cardinals picked Jordan in the 2020 MLB Draft, it was easy for him to join the club because his dad Derek believed the Cardinals fit his young, energetic son. 

After the deal was sealed, the then-18-year-old prodigy arranged a massive celebration for his relatives and friends back in his hometown Georgia. 

Similarly, The 6-foot-5 outfielder dialed his phone home to break the good news that he has been selected in the first team roster for the Cardinals' game against the Toronto Blue Jays in March 2023 at Busch Stadium.

Without a doubt, Derek and Katrina booked the flight ticket right away to attend their boy's MLB debut game.

Derek Walker is a Senior Vice President of Engineering at Hyland, a software development firm in Alpharetta, Georgia.

As stated by his Linkedin profile, Walker is a professional with extensive experience in product development, strategy, and innovation.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1992 and a Master of Science in Information Networking from Carnegie Mellon University in 1993.

Derek embarked on his career at AT&T, where he worked for over 20 years. He held various leadership positions during his tenure, including Senior Member of Technical Staff, Director of Product Development and Strategy, and Executive Director of IP Licensing and Sales. 

In 2015, Walker joined McKesson, a healthcare company based in Georgia, as Vice President of Product Strategy and Innovation. He was responsible for developing and executing product strategies to drive growth and profitability.

Then the following year, in 2016, Derek was promoted to Vice President of Product Development at Allscripts, a healthcare information technology company that merged with McKesson. 

Moreover, in 2018, Walker joined Hyland, a software company based in Alpharetta, Georgia, as Director of Product Management. After two years at the company in 2020, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Engineering.

He leads the company's engineering efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

Katrina Walker is a Harvard University graduate who works as a Georgia high school teacher. 

After completing her undergraduate studies at Harvard, she earned a Master's in Business Economics from Washington University in St. Louis.

Then later pursued a second Master's degree at Emory before starting a career as a high school educator.

Mrs. Walker reminisces about his son Jordan during his early days when he spent all day playing with his father, Derek, and older brother, Derek Jr.

By age four, Jordan had fully engulfed his passion for the sport and began sleeping with his baseball and ball in his bed. 

Jordan Walker Siblings

Jordan Walker has two siblings Derek Jr Walker and Sophia Walker. Derek Jr is the oldest of the three while Sophia is the youngest.

Derek and Katrina raised the brood of a trio in the suburbs of Atlanta in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Jordan's grandmother Deborah Wingfield is also in the picture.

Deborah's second husband, Joseph L. Wingfield Sr., played a vital role in coaching Derek, Jordan's father, during his early years in baseball.

Later Derek guided his two sons Derek Jr and his younger brother Jordan the fundamental of the game. Both siblings began practicing with Derek in their backyard with T-ball from a young age.

Jorda's big bro Derek Jr played in high school and college baseball but did not pursue a career after completing his education.

Deborah, his grandmother, had been hoping for a more sustained playing career for Derek Jr. and thus felt somewhat disappointed by the brevity of his time on the field.

Later, when Jordan emerged as another elite prospect, Deborah once again had a beam of hope that one day his grandkid would make a name in the history of baseball.

Jordan Walker Childhood

Walker's childhood was full of sports, but his fondness for baseball was evident from an early age.

As a toddler, he would run the bases on his grandfather's T-ball team and refused to go to sleep without his baseball glove and bat.

Despite his family's concerns about football-related injuries impacting his baseball career, Walker continued to play basketball, soccer, and baseball.

Throughout his childhood, Walker's love for sports and academics drove him to excel on and off the field. His passion for baseball never waned,

Besides, his passion for studies was equally strong. Jordan earned his high school diploma at Decatur High School, where he sowed his baseball foundation. 

He quickly rose to stardom with his unbelievable stats for a junior player, with 17 home runs, 60 RBIs, and 24 stolen bases in 2019. Walker was named the Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year in 2020.

In addition to the field, Jordan also excelled in the classroom, earning a 3.98 GPA and a scholarship to Duke University.

Walker's dedication to his studies allowed him to pursue his dream of playing baseball at the collegiate level while ensuring his academic success.

Jordan Walker is single and does not have a girlfriend. The baseball prodigy is practically focused on his career at the moment.
