Though he wanted Jones to be proficient in academics, she had another plan. Right from early childhood, Jenn had a serious interest in sports.

She attended St. Vital Curling Club when she was only 11.

Besides curling, Jones was also a skilful volleyball player in school. However, she had to make a hard choice between her two favourite sports at high school.

Sadly, her father passed away in May 2019 at age 80. But he left a legacy of his own in local curling clubs. He coached Jennifer and her sister Heather growing up.

Travelling back in time to the 50s, a young Larry, son of a local grocery shop owner, wanted to embark on a hockey career, but instead, he chose to curl.

Then in 1963, he met the love of his life, Larry, who would stay by him forever.

After marriage, the two purchased a home in Windsor Park, where they lived together. Seven years later, in 1973, Jennifer's older sis Heather was born.
