Jared Bednar wife Susan Bednar is originally from Huntington West Virginia. Jared and Susan raised their two children in Charleston.
The former NHL defenceman first crossed paths with Susan during his time playing for the Huntington Blizzard. Susan worked as a server at a local restaurant, where they met and caught each other's attention.

Bednar then invited her to be his date at the Blizzard's year-end team banquet and she agreed. However, Bednar left for home shortly thereafter and stayed away for four months, per The Athletic.
Afterward, the couple reunited in South Carolina, where they settled down and started a family.
Susan managed the couple's rental properties and raised their two children while Bednar was away playing and coaching hockey. He credits her and their families for their unwavering support, which allowed him to pursue his career.
Jared and Susan have a remarkably resilient relationship, as Jared consistently made time to communicate with his family through daily FaceTime call that sometimes lasted for several hours.

Jared Bednar has two kids named Kruz Bednar and Savega Bednar. Kruz attended Valor Christian High School in Colorado.
The Bednar welcomed their first child Kruz in 2000, a year before Jared retired from playing hockey. Their second child, Savega, was born in 2005.
Jared Bednar son Kruz was a member of the high school baseball team. Kruz followed in his father's footsteps by playing sports but opted for baseball and joined the Valor Christian JV Boys Baseball team.
