Jahvon Quinerly parents are Mark Quinerly and Caren Quinerly. Jahvon was born on November 25, 1998 in Hackensack New Jersey.
Mark and Caren had preferred their son to go to Villanova University instead of Arizona.
Jahvon is one of the founding four members of the "Jelly Fam," along with Isaiah Washington, Ja'Quaye James, and Sid Wilson. The four started the layup move called "the jelly," where they transitioned their dunk move to a finger roll.
After much trailing with the FBI regarding the 2017-18 NCAA Division I men's basketball corruption misconduct, Quinerly played with Villanova and recommitted to Arizona.
He is now in his senior year as a guard at Alabama under coach Nate Oats after transferring in 2019. The five-star high school recruit looks forward to a pro career in NBA.
Jahvon Quinerly Family Life
Jahvon's family includes his father Mark and mother Caren. The Quinerly couple has been married for 24 years and celebrates their wedding anniversary on February 20 each year.
Meanwhile, the two have been together for almost three decades since they met during their teenage years.
Caren Quinerly
Jahvon Quinerly mom Caren was 19 when she first met Mark. She has been open about her story on her Instagram from her struggling days as a mother to four boys.
She is a 1999 Northern Highlands Regional High School graduate who attended Southern Connecticut State University. However, she dropped out of college a year later and started working.
Her LinkedIn confirms that she first worked as an office manager at MWWPR from 1992 to 2022. Mrs. Quinerly started her Lettuce Inn business, a quick-service restaurant in Ramsey, from 2004 to 2010.
Caren took the executive assistant position at MWWPR in 2008 and left the job in 2011. She was a personal assistant at Confidential from 2011 to 2019 in Mahwah.
Jahvon's mother is a small business owner who runs Love Birds and Beads, that sells handmade jewelry and beaded handbags.
Besides her work, Carenina travels around New Jersey and Alabama for Jahvon's games.
Mark Quinerly
Mark Quinerly has been working as an officer in Bergen County (N.J.) Sheriff’s Department for the past two decades. He started working right after his high school graduation to support his family back then.
He also played basketball at school but did not consider playing at the collegiate level. Hence, he got a job looking after Caren and their kids.
The Quinerly couple has vocalized their roles in Jahvon's basketball career. They initially preferred Villanova because it was a short drive for them to meet their son.
However, Jahvon initially chose to commit to Arizona due to its weather, and most of his friends were there. After the bombarding headlines about the corruption in NCAA recruiting, Jahvon ultimately opted for Villanova.
Jahvon Quinerly Siblings
Jahvon Quinerly is the second child in the family and has three siblings. He has an elder brother and two younger ones.
Basketball and love for sports runs in the clan due to their dad's upbringing as a player. All brothers come together to attend each other's games and to cheer for a win.
Maurice Quinerly
The eldest son of Mark and Caren was born before their marriage. He now lives away from their Hackensack home as an adult.
Unlike his little brothers, he did not pursue basketball as a main-go in school.
Hence, he stays away from the limelight and focuses on his career. However, he has attended Jahvon, Jade, and Julien's games as a devoted elder kin.
Jaden Quinerly
Jaden, the third son of the New Jersey-based Quinerly couple, was born on June 30, 2002. He is three years younger than Jahvon.
He attended Ramsey High School though Jahvon was a Hudson Catholic Regional High School student.
Jaden was a preferred walk-on teammate to Alabama Crimsons and a junior to Jahvon. Both play as guards for their varsity team. Jaden is majoring in Finance, while his elder brother is studying Advertising.
Their win at the 2023 SEC tournament in March against Texas A&M has made the duo stars of the uni. They share a great rapport in the Bama community alongside the Crimson Tides' Bryce Young.
Julien Quinerly
The youngest and the fourth son of the family, Julien is equally enthusiastic about his basketball career. He was born on March 2, 2008, and is a budding teenager at 15.
As all of his elder brothers have left home for university and careers, he is the only son living with his father and mother.
Hence, they have become travel buddies and cheer partners for Jahvon and Jaden. Julien is on Instagram as @julienquinerly_, mainly sharing photos from his basketball practice. He plays for his team at Ramsey High School.
Jahvon Quinerly Childhood
Jahvon spent his childhood in Hackensack, New Jersey. Meanwhile, he attended Hudson Catholic Regional High School in Jersey City.
He started playing basketball young to win two Gatorade New Jersey Boys Basketball Player of the Year honors in his last two seasons. He graduated as a five-star prospect for college under head coach Nick Mariniello.
Mark and Caren have openly shared their financial struggles from their early days to becoming parents to four boys.
However, the couple, especially Caren, continued working to provide for Jahvon and his brothers' needs to make it big in sports. When the corruption case hit the news, the two quickly hired a lawyer to sort out the case.
Their top priority was not to bring any problem to Jahvon's recruitment for college. As he has continued playing in the NCAA division, the Quinerly couple rests assured.
They look forward to his NBA draft anytime soon, along with his best academic results. But first in hand is the best possible performance in Sweet 16 against San Diego State Aztecs led by Brian Dutcher.
