Jaden Ivey girlfriend Caitlyn Newton announced they are expecting their first baby. Jaden proposed to Caitlyn in July 2022.

On Thursday, January 19, the dad-to-be NBA star posted a blurry ultrasound photograph of their unborn kid on Instagram revealing that he will be a papa for the first time.

Jaden is also taking leaps in his basketball career. The Detroit Pistons picked him in the fifth overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft in June.

Pistons' Guard Ivey scored 16 points, three rebounds, and four assists against Chicago Bulls in the NBA game on January 20. But it was not enough for the team to win the game, and Detroit lost 108-206.

Who Is Caitlyn Newton?

Caitlyn Newton is a professional volleyball player from Terre Haute city in Indiana. She plays for Purdue Boilermakers in the NCAA league.

According to her summary section on the Purduesports website, Newton was born Caitlyn Molly Newton to Donald and Anna Newton Scott. She grew up with five siblings.

She has three sisters, Caroline, Ava and Ryann, along with two brothers, Gregory and Adam.

Newton concluded her high school education at Terre Haute High, where she honed her volleyball skills. She was honored with All-conference three times and anointed to the All-American watch list in 2016.

The Indiana native attended Purdue University in West Lafayette in 2017. Newton joined the college's volleyball team, Boilermakers, as a freshman and played 25 matches in her first year.

Her professional stats began to record in 2018, and in four years till 2021, she appeared in 119 games for the team. She has total kills of 488 and has bagged so many accolades during that period. 

Purdue Volleyball's official Twitter page congratulated Newton on achieving her career's first Big Ten Player of the Week in November 2021. She is a 2022 PUVB graduate, and her field of study was a Master of Public Health.

Jaden Ivey and Caitlyn Are Expecting Their First Baby

Jaden and his future wife Caitlyn made the news public about their first pregnancy via Instagram. They posted an ultrasound scan of their baby.

They have been dating for a few years now and are excited to embark on this new chapter in their life. Ivey was delighted ad excited about making it public.

He thanked Caitlyn for the greatest gift of his life. Additionally, he disclosed that their child is a son by calling him "young king." She also reshared Ivey's post on her own Instagram

Many other athletes and Jaden's Detroit Pistons colleagues commented on the page to congratulate the couple and wish them and their baby well. However, the couple, engaged in June 2022, has not unveiled the due date.

Jaden and Caitlyn moved together to settle in Detroit last summer. She also attended the watch party for his 2022 NBA draft in June.

Jaden Ivey Parents Are Former Athletes

Jaden was born in an athlete family to his parents Javin Hunter and Niele Ivey in February 2002.

Both his father, Javin and his mother, Niele, have a sports background. As students at the same university, they crossed paths at Notre Dame.

She was a professional player herself. Niele spent her days in WNBA with teams like the Phoenix Memory, Indiana Fever, and Detroit Shock. After completing high school at Cor Jesu Academy in Missouri, she joined Notre Dome in 1997. 

Niele played college leagues for the Dome for four seasons before moving out in 2001 as the Indiana Fever picked her in the 2001 WNBA draft. She has been serving as a coach since her retirement.

Father Javin Edward Hunter

Jaden Ivey dad Javin is a retired NFL player. He played wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers for a season.

In 2002, Javin was a hot cake coming out of The Fighting Irish. Hence many NFL teams had eyes on him. The Baltimore Ravens chose him in the 206 overall picks in the 2002 NBA Draft.

Hunter's promising career was cut short as he suffered a horrible Achilles injury in his second season. He joined the 49ers in 2005 and played for a year but could not continue because of his past injury.

Jaden came with athletic genes from his grandfather to his father and mother.

They have always been Christian devotees; his late grandpa James Hunter was an elite American football player. He spent his entire NFL career playing for the Detroit Lions as a defensive back. 

James was drafted by the Lions in the 1976 NFL Draft and played for seven seasons with the club. Coined "Hound Dog," he made it into the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 1976. Besides, Jaden also has one patrilineal half-sibling, Jordan Hunter.
