Fighting with My Family Real Paige is Saraya Jade Bevis. Saraya is a two-time WWE Divas Champion and the inaugural NXT Women Champion.

Saraya Bevis was born on 17 August 1992 in Norwich, England. The 5 feet 8 inches tall diva hails from a professional wrestling family.

Although it may sound obvious that she followed in the footsteps of her family members, becoming a wrestler was not her first aim. Bevis was initially scared of wrestling in her childhood days and wanted to become a zoologist instead.

However, she couldn't stay far from it for a long time as she occasionally started getting in the ring from the age of 10. Three years later, Saraya made her professional debut in 2005 using the ring name Britani Knight.

After showcasing her skills in numerous European nations, Jade Bevis succeeded in her second try-out for WWE in April 2011. She made her debut for FCW in 2012 with the ring name Saraya which was later changed to Paige.

Her continuous training and hard work paid off as she relished a pretty successful career before a neck injury forced her into retirement in 2017. Paige was then appointed the new general manager of SmackDown by Vince McMahon.

Fighting with My Family Based On True Story

Fighting with My Family is based on the true story of WWE superstar Paige. The 2019 biographical movie is inspired by the real-life events of the Paige family from England.

The sports drama film was written and directed by Stephen Merchant. The famous wrestler Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock co-produced the movie along with starring in it.

The picture was theatrically released in the US on 14 February 2019 and received positive feedback from critics. Not only is the movie based on true events but the resemblance of the reel characters with the real ones has made this globally hit.

While appearing on the Lilian Garcia podcast, Saraya Jade Bevis called the film incredible and verified the abundance of events shown in the picture as being absolutely true.

She said, "I cried my eyes after watching it for the first time. It is not just a wrestling story, it's very versatile, it's very open, it's incredible and I couldn't have asked for a better cast."

Fighting with My Family Storyline

The plot of the movie starts with wrestlers Rick and Julia inspiring their offspring (Zack and Saraya) to follow in their footsteps. As the siblings apply to join the WWE, they are evaluated by a veteran trainer Hutch Morgan.

Zak was more passionate about wrestling from an early age and seemed more confident about making it to the WWE. However, fate had other ideas as only Paige was selected and Zak was told to return home.

The story then follows the events of Bevis having difficulty in training to overcome it and ultimately relishing her dream of winning the WWE Championship. The movie in the hindsight follows Zak struggling with his failure to achieve the goal.

Florence Pugh played Paige in Fighting with My Family. The English actress was well-acclaimed after nailing the role to perfection. Some of her complicated stunts in the ring were performed by professional wrestler Tessa Blanchard.

Jack Lowden was cast as Zak, Lena Headey as Julia, Nick Frost as Rowdy Ricky Knight, and The Rock as himself. Furthermore, Hutch Morgan is Vince Vaughn in Fighting with the Family.

Patrick was born on 23 December 1953 and worked as a bouncer when he first met with fellow professional wrestler Jimmy Ocean.

Ricky was fascinated with wrestling as he started training under Jimmy. They later formed a tag team named The Superflys which was quite popular throughout the 1990s in the British circuit.

Julia used to work in a restaurant in Norfolk when her paths crossed for the first time with Ricky. It took them no time to get closer to each other as they fell in love.

Post her meeting with Knight, Julia left her job at the restaurant and traveled with her hubby full-time. After starting with preparing wrestling costumes and putting the rings up and down, she later joined the Superflys as their manager.

Following the suggestion from Ricky, Julia decided to embark on a professional wrestling career as she made her debut against Nikki Best with the ring name Sweet Saraya.

The trio of Ricky Knight, Sweet Saraya, and Jimmy Ocean formed the World Association of Wrestling (WAW) in 1994. As Ocean parted away from the business one year later, the Bevis couple took it upon themselves to make it grow further and popularise it all over the globe.

In a momentous career spanning more than thirty years, both Knight and Saraya achieved notable accolades in the wrestling arena winning multiple championship titles throughout the journey.

As depicted in Fighting with My Family, Knight has actually done eight years time in prison due to violent offenses. But most importantly, the inspirational wrestling duo has not only trained but inspired a generation to seek their professional future in the world of wrestling.
