Hokies senior Elizabeth starred with 25 points and 12 rounds in a sensational victory (84-74) over Ohio State Buckeyes. Virgina will now face LSU led by Kim Mulkey in the 2023 Women's NCAA Tournament Final Four.

Kitley opted to play for Virginia Tech Hokies post her high school career at Northwest Guilford High School. She justified her rating of a five-star recruit by ESPN by winning the ACC Freshman of the Year in the 2019/20 season.

Elizabeth Kitley dad Ralph Kitley and mom Loretta have been happily married for over two decades. They tied the knot on December 28, 1999. 

The Hokies basketball sensation grew up in Summerfield, North Carolina. She was inspired by her old folks from a very early age to pursue a career in basketball.

The proud guardians are very appreciative of Elizabeth's achievements to date. They often present in the arena to cheer for her and the team during match days.

Ralph Kitley Played Basketball in Germany

The 6 feet 10 inches tall Ralph was born on December 24, 1967. He attended North Rowan High School and played a vital role in guiding them to a 1986 state championship.

Senior Kitley joined Wake Forest Demon Deacons and played over 100 games across four seasons from 1986-90 in ACC Conference. He later played professional basketball for years in Germany as well.

Ralph achieved his master’s degree from Gardner-Webb University in school administration and then transferred to an administrative role at Guilford County School. 

He served as the principal of Northwest Guilford High School, Southeast High School, and GTCC Middle College High School throughout the years post his retirement as a player. 

Loretta is a School Principal

Elizabeth's mother Loretta grew up in a rural area of Kansas alongside her nine siblings. She went to Garnett High School in her hometown.

Loretta Rowland-Kitley earned an associate degree from Allen County Community College and a bachelor's degree in visual arts education from the University of Kansas. She later earned her master's in educational leadership and administration from Fort Hays State University.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she served as the Early/Middle College principal at GTCC-Jamestown from 2008 to 2020. Loretta is currently the principal at Guilford County Schools, North Carolina.

Apart from her educational and administrative expertise, she is also a fitness enthusiast. She practices and teaches Yoga at 'Yoga with Loretta.'

Elizabeth Has Three Siblings

Elizabeth Kitley has three siblings, Raven, Zack and Nick. The Hokies basketball player is the youngest among four of them.

From her mom's first marriage, Zack and Nick are Kitley's two older half-brothers. Similarly, Raven is her half-sister from dad Ralph's first marriage.

Zack graduated from North Carolina State University. He is currently involved in Northeast Medium Business at Citrix since 2018.

Liz is extremely close to her older sister despite the age gap of nine years between them. Raven moved in with Ralph's family full-time when Elizabeth was in high school and their bond became more stronger.

Raven has autism, which was diagnosed around middle school. Despite that, she shares the same passion for sports and participates in the Special Olympics. Elizabeth embraces the company of her half-sister as Raven is often present in the court to support her.

Elizabeth Kitley Grew Up In Summerfield

Elizabeth was born on 17 September, 1999 in Summerfield, North Carolina. She was interested in sports ever since her childhood.

She grew up playing softball, basketball and volleyball in her early school days. She was more into softball by the time she reached grade five.

However, things changed as she started focusing more on basketball before attending Northwest Guilford High School. Kitley superbly led Guilford basketball team twice to the state championships.

The rising basketball star scored more than 1,000 points during her prep career. She also earned North Carolina Class 4A State Tournament MVP honors in 2017 and 2018 on the back of consistent stellar performances.

Fast forward to 2023, she is in the last year of her collegiate basketball with Vigrinia Tech and hopes to bid farewell with the NCAA Championship.
