Matt Shepard

Meanwhile, he has been a play-by-play broadcaster on Fox Sports Detroit since 2000. Besides baseball, he has also covered professional hockey, college football, and basketball.

The veteran sportscaster is a 1988 graduate of Central Michigan University in broadcasting, journalism, and advertising. He currently resides with his family in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Dan Dickerson leads the Detroit Tigers broadcasting team as the announcer. He took over the position after Ernie Harwell retired from his career at the end of the 2002 season.

Since then, Dan has primarily shared the workspace with fellow sportscaster Jim Price, and the two are often referred to as a two-man crew.

Dickerson was born on November 13, 1958, in Birmingham, Michigan. He has avid experience in covering radio sports since 1981, where he started his career with WCUZ RAdio.

Jim Price first joined the Tigers as a color analyst on their cable telecasts with PASS Sports in 1993. He is a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Price then moved to the Detroit network in 1998, where he initially worked with the retired anchorman Ernie Harwell from 1999 to 2002. After Ernie bid his farewell to the team and Dan took over, the two's professional bond has been strong ever since.

Furthermore, his prior experience as a pro baseballer has been very handy for his broadcasting career. Jim was a catcher for Detroit from 1967 to 1971.

Bobby Scales

Bobby Scales has joined the team as a part-time analyst for the 2023 season. He will be covering the road games, supporting the main crew of Dickerson and Price.

As a former MLBer, Scales is one of the fittest men around to do the job. He was a second baseman during his active playing days from 2009 to 2010. Meanwhile, he also spent another year in the Japanese Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) to add to his experience.

Cameron Maybin

Maybin played high school baseball for T. C. Roberson High School in Asheville, NC.

Cameron Maybin is a former MLB star who played for various teams from 2007 to 2021. He made his major league debut for Detriot in 2007.

Maybin became the World Series Champion in 2017 while playing for Houston Astros alongside the likes of Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve.

He joined the Tigers broadcast team on Bally Sports Detroit as a studio analyst and occasional in-game analyst for the 2023 season.

Cameron and Scales will be seen partnering up for the big Tigers moments on the road. Detroit Free Press confirmed that Maybin has been booked for about 30 games this season.

John Keating

John Keating has been looking after Detroit since 1997. He does both the pregame and postgame shows for the Tigers as well as Detroit Red Wings.

He even served as a temporary color analyst on the network for several road games in June 2009. The switch-up happened when Dan suffered a leg injury, and Price did the play-by-play that time.

Mickey York

Mickey York has been the pre-game host for the Tigers since 2000. He also does the same for the Detroit Pistons.

York is a partner of the Spartans men's basketball head coach Tom Izzo on their 3-minute weekly show, "One on One with Tom Izzo," on Big Ten Network.

Furthermore, Mickey also hosts "The Detroit Sports Report" with Brad Adam and "MHSAA Football Friday Overtime" with Rob Rubick.

Trevor Thompson

Trevor Thompson started his journey with the Fox Sports Net Detroit in 1998 and eventually with the Tigers since 2000. He started out as a reporter and later became a show host.

His LinkedIn confirms that Trevor has prior experience of being a reporter at Orca Bay Sports & Entertainment from 1995 to 1998 in Vancouver.

Johnny Kane

Johnny Kane is a pregame host of the Tigers games and a play-by-play to the Pistons game. Moreover, Johnny is also a former motor racer.

He is a 2004 graduate of Ohio University and has worked with WKAG channel, KSNT Channel 27, and  KMBC-TV before entering the Fox Sports Detroit realm that later became Bally Sports Detroit.

Dan Petry

Dan joined the Tigers broadcast team on Bally Sports Detroit on January 15, 2019. He previously served as a substitute color analyst for the Tigers radio network under Dickerson in 2012.

Coming into 2022, he filled in for Price during the on-road games. Hence, he has been a regular face on the Detroit team. As of the 2023 season, Dan will be seen covering about 40 games as a primary studio analyst.

Meanwhile, Dan Petry is also a former MLB player from 1979 to 1991. He played with the Tigers on two occasions, from 1979 to 1987 and 1990 to 1991.
