Sam Burns - 2022

Sam Burns is the defending champion of the Charles Schwab Challenge. He lifted the coveted trophy beating Scottie Scheffler in the playoff.

His remarkable performance included a 38-foot birdie putt on the initial extra hole, effectively securing his win over his worthy opponent. Before the playoff, Burns had already completed an exceptional round, carding an impressive 5-under 65 to reach a commendable 9-under overall score.

The RBC-sponsored golfer staged an extraordinary comeback, surpassing a seven-stroke deficit and equalling Nick Price's 1994 record for the most significant final-round recovery at Colonial Country Club.

This remarkable triumph brought not only Burns accolades but also substantial rewards. His well-deserved victory earned him a handsome purse of $1,512,000 and the prestigious honor of donning a plaid jacket.

In addition, he was also presented with a custom-built 1979 Schwab Firebird Trans Am, further adding to the significance of his achievement. This memorable victory marked Burns' third PGA Tour victory of the season, further solidifying his stature as an accomplished golfer.

Jason Kokrak - 2021

Jason Kokrak is another name in the list of Colonial Golf Course past winners. Kokrak secured his second PGA Tour triumph in Fort Worth, Texas.

With a final round score of 70, Kokrak emerged victorious by a two-stroke margin over Jordan Spieth. Notably, Spieth faced a setback on the 18th hole, where his approach shot went over the green, landing in the water.

Jason experienced a mixed performance throughout the event. Despite recording five bogeys alongside five birdies, he managed to maintain an even score for the day.

Kokrak encountered challenges in bunkers twice, requiring two shots to escape each time. Additionally, he also faced consecutive bogeys on holes 15 and 16.

However, the defining moment arrived when he struck his final 4-foot putt confidently. With unwavering focus, he attentively tracked the ball as it entered the cup. A smile of contentment crossed his face as he retrieved the ball and celebrated the victory alongside his caddie, David Robinson.

The American golfer currently plays in the LIV Golf league and will be absent from the 2023 Colonial National Invitation tournament.

Daniel Berger - 2020

Daniel Berger emerged victorious at the 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge. Berger earned a substantial prize amount worth $1.375 million.

Kevin Na - 2019

Korean linksman Kevin Na secured his third PGA Tour triumph by claiming a commanding four-shot victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

He recorded a stellar score of 62 in the second round and concluded with a solid 4-under 66, including four birdies in the first eight holes in the final round. Ultimately, Na finished the event with an impressive score of -13, establishing a comfortable lead ahead of Tony Finau.

Na's exceptional display of golfing prowess began right from the start. He held a two-shot lead from the outset and maintained his advantage for the remaining 16 holes.

Notably, he showcased his accuracy by landing his second shot within 5 feet of the pin on the par-4 second hole, securing a birdie. As the tournament concluded, Na won with a final birdie at the 18th hole, finishing with a score of 13 under par.

Justin Rose - 2018

Justin Rose secured a resounding victory at the Fort Worth Invitational Challenge in May 2018. The win came after outpacing his competitors, Brooks Koepka and Emiliano Grillo by a three-stroke margin.

Rose entered the final round as the frontrunner, holding a four-shot lead, and maintained his dominance with a solid round of 66. His final-round performance of six-under 64 propelled him to an impressive total score of 20-under 260.

Jordan Spieth - 2016

It was a significant triumph, mainly as it came in just his third tournament since experiencing the disappointment of squandering a five-stroke lead on the back nine during his bid to win the Masters for the second consecutive year.

Chris Kirk - 2015

Chris Kirk achieved a remarkable score of 12 under 268 en route to winning the 2015 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial Country Club.

In a tense moment on the ultimate hole, Chris displayed nerves of steel as he sank a crucial seven-foot par putt, skillfully avoiding the need for a playoff and securing his fourth PGA Tour title.

The victory was particularly significant for the American linksman, marking his first triumph since the 2014 Deutsche Bank Championship.

During his final tee shot, Kirk encountered a slight setback as he unintentionally veered his shot into the left rough. Nonetheless, he admirably recovered by executing a precise approach shot from a distance of 155 yards, albeit overshooting the green.

Adam Scott - 2014

Adam Scott secured a glorious victory at the 2014 Crowne Plaza Invitational in Forth Worth. This triumph marked his 11th overall PGA Tour win.

He sank a remarkable 7-foot birdie putt on the third hole of a playoff showcasing his remarkable skill and composure under pressure.

On May 19, 2014, Adam Scott ascended to the prestigious position of the world's number-one-ranked golfer. He became the 17th golfer to achieve this distinction since the inception of official rankings.

Boo Weekley - 2013

In an impressive comeback, Boo Weekley secured a long-awaited victory at the Crowne Plaza Invitational in Texas. That marked his first title in five years with a narrow one-shot lead.

Boo showcased his abilities by stringing together three consecutive birdies starting from the eighth hole. This remarkable performance propelled him into the lead, which he maintained until the end, ultimately finishing with a commendable score of 14 under par.
