Brian Dutcher wife Janet Dutcher married on August 4, 1984. Brian met her at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in Saint Paul, Minneapolis.

The head coach of San Diego State Aztec's men's basketball team, Dutcher took on the position in 2017 after spending 18 years as its associate head coach.

He boasts coaching experiences of four decades and two wins at the 2020 and 2021 MWC Coach of the Year awards.

Moreover, his influence in the field remains nimble with his family's involvement. He had started his vocation as a graduate assistant with Illinois Fighting Illini in 1983.

Brian also coached for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits and the Michigan Wolverines. He has a close friendship with Arkansas Razorbacks coach Eric Musselman.

Brian is all set and ready to face Uconn Huskies led by Dan Hurley in the NCAA Men's championship following his unbelievable run in the March Madness 2023.

Brian Dutcher Family Life

Brian Dutcher met Janet Sue during their undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota. Janet is from Saint Paul.

The couple finally tied the knot on August 4, 1984, after their Bachelor's degree graduation.

Brian was pursuing his Master of Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The future head coach graduated a year later after getting married.

Despite Dutcher's prevailing fame in collegiate basketball, he and Jan have resorted to living a private personal life. Besides his work, the head coach rarely mentions his beloved in public interviews.

However, he revealed that Jan entirely follows the nearest unbeaten team's map in a December 2019 press conference. Meanwhile, he also said he was not geographically suitable to know a team's chance for a good game. 

Jan is available on Facebook, where she shares her donation to many humanitarian causes. She last donated to the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance in 2018.

Brian Dutcher and Janet welcomed two children after their marriage. They have two daughters named Erin Dutcher and Liza Dutcher

Both daughters live in San Diego, near their parents. However, they maintain their distance from the media, like their mother. 

Erin Dutcher Worked With the San Diego Seals

Erin was born in 1988 when the San Diego State Aztecs made the Sweet 16 for the first time under her dad's leadership. She is the eldest daughter of the Dutcher couple.

Erin attended San Diego State University from 2006 to 2011 and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Communications. Her LinkedIn confirms that she last worked for the San Diego Seals lacrosse team as their Operations Specialist from October 2017 to March 2020.

She was the only San Diego-based worker during her time with the team.

Liza Dutcher Is Married

The youngest member of the San Diego-based Dutcher household is Liza Dutcher. She was born on October 21, 1991, and is three years younger than Erin.

Unlike her elder sister, Liza mostly stays away from the limelight and has kept her professional life to herself. Meanwhile, she married her long-time partner Adam Meltz on October 2, 2022. 

The two lives in Alborada Driv, San Diego, where Brian and Janet previously lived. Erin and Liza are all based in San Diego to be close to their aging father and mother.

Brian Dutcher Childhood Story

Brian Dutcher was born to parents Jim Dutcher and Marilyn Dutcher. He has three siblings, all younger sisters named Diane, Judi, and Barbara.

Diane McNutt attended the University of Minnesota for her Bachelor's and Masters. She worked at Ceridian as an executive for a decade, from 1997 to 2007. 

She has been working with the UnitedHealth Group for the past 16 years. McNut was promoted to the role of Vice President in October 2021.

Judi is an attorney and former politician. She was the first woman Minnesota State Auditor from 1995 to 2003, representing both Republicans and Democrats. She has been serving as the CEO of The Benston Foundation since 2010. 

Brian's youngest sister Barbara Jacobson is a Director of Market Research at UnitedHealthcare. 

Brian Dutcher Parents

Jim and Marilyn were high school sweethearts, and they married in 1957. Marilyn passed away in 2010, while Jim lives and works as a broadcaster for the Minnesota Twins.

The elderly Dutcher is nearing his 90s but has continued his connections with college basketball. He is best known for his time with the Minnesota Golden Gophers as their head coach from 1975 to 1986.

The Sweet 16 Gophers had won the 1982 NCAA Championship under his coaching. Jim Dutcher had taken the Big Ten Coach of the Year award the same year.

Jim is a former army and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity during his time at the University of Michigan. After retiring from his coaching career, he became a registered financial advisor.

He served as a Senior Vice President for the Royal Bank of Canada-Dain until 2005. As of 2023, Jim is a broadcaster for the Minnesota team.
